Am I incorrect in assuming that places like Toys R Us and KB Toys, both of which sell Ouija boards, wouldn't sell a product that poses a great danger to the user?
Am I also incorrect in assuming that the "dangers" of Ouija boards have never been conclusively proven, because if they had been, two TOY STORES wouldn't be selling them? If I'm right on this, then why haven't these dangers been proven? (Keep in mind that this product has been sold for over a hundred years.)
Thanks in advance.

I don't believe in Ouija boards before some of you get the wrong idea.

Maybe: I know that there have been products in the past that have been banned because they were dangerous to kids. I can think of a couple myself. But that's the thing: They were banned. Ouija boards have been around longer than many toys, and many people over the years have claimed to experience horrible things because of them... and yet these stores still sell them. Why?

goodness some of the answers are scarier than any board lol
of course it is a toy , nothing more nothing less
the same effects can be had by pieces of paper if someone wishes to conjur something " bad "
it is our own energy that affects the board
and if a medium uses it then it is the medium who accesses spirit and not the board , the board merely functions as a tool ... although i dont know any medium who would need one to do so
and omg Gwhiz ... candles ?... which they use in churches and chapels ...
herbs ? which you find in asprin
crystals ? which you find in your PC !
and mirrors lol well i wont go there

Ouija boards in themselves are a mere toy. They are not meant to be taken seriously. It is only when someone changes their behavior or their life based on what they believed this toy told them that can cause harm. You can hardly blame the board for that. The same thing holds true for reading tea leaves and living ones life based on the daily horoscope in the newspapers or on the net.

The powers and forces which can be summond by the use of ouija boards are very real and very evil... I was familier with the truth of the fores of evil long before I came to The Truth of God... even "innocent" use of one can inadvertantly bring on danger... I have personaly witnessed it happen... there are many "toys" that are sold in Toys R us that are dangerous... many of the vidio, and other, games today can be used to sommon the forces of evil... play with them at your own risk...
ouija boards do not need to be bought... they can be made from a cardboard box with a magic marker and a pull tab as a pointer... it is not the material... it is the mind set of the user that sets them in motion and summons the dark side.

Penn and Teller (on their TV show) had a special on Ouija boards. They had a group of people who seriously believed in them, and had them use one. They had all kinds of messages from "beyond". Penn and Teller then blindfolded the people and had then try. Without telling the people, they turned the board upside down. The people kept talking about how they "felt the spirits" moving their hands. They were moving over blank space.
The show went on to explain some of the details of how people move the eye on Ouija boards without knowing they are the ones doing it. People convince themselves it is real to the point of believing it.
The only mystery behind Ouija boards is why anyone believes in them.

Ouija boards have been proven - to be absolutely harmelss. In a controlled setting, the planchett will not move, no spirits will appear, and no words will be spelled. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that using a Ouija board produces any effect whatsoever. That is why it is sold as a toy. It is an amusing game, but completely useless as a tool to contact the dead, or disembodied spirits.

I'm 43 years old, and terrified of Ouija boards. I don't really know why that is, but I refuse to allow my kids to have one in the house, to touch one, or even to look at one. I hate the damn things.
I don't believe in God, Satan, or that evil is a palpable force just waiting for the chance to catch us in it's grip. There's just something about a Ouija board that feels wrong to me.
Are they evil, a danger to kids? I don't believe that they are. I have no explanation as to why I feel as I do about them, but it's been with me all my life.

You are correct. I do not believe a toy store would knowingly sell a product that poses any danger to the user.

I would say you are correct in your premises. There is no age limit to buy a Ouija board. Parker Bros makes some, Milton Bradley make some.. they are games and nothing more. They are entertainment and not good entertainment at that.

You have concluded this by trusting toy stores to be a source of authority on the subject? Treetop apple juice years ago was banned by mothers for putting jet fuel in the juice to make and giving to kids. Think about it before assuming your trust is in the right place.

First of all, the Ouija is a seance tool and is used by witches
t's possible that KB does not know this. Trust me, no self respecting witch thinks it is a toy
