one McKeen Line i found on rootsweb.com says as follows
McIans and MCKEAN
Note: Reid (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~wallacer/PS03/PS03_121.HTM) has a submitted suggestion of a William (McIan) McKeane who was born circa 1570 and was a prominent farmer and merchant. He was originally from Arduamurchan, Scotland, then went to the east coast, then to Aghadawey, Ireland.

this source goes on to say that about his son : Event 3 May 1679 Magus Moor, Fife, Scotland Archbishop Sharp of St Andrews was murdered by a group of Covenantors including William McKean [onDate] [atPlace]. Sharp and his daughter were travelling by coach when they were stopped. Sharp was killed, despite his daughter's attempts to save him. Note: *** There is record of William, who was reportedly a Covenanteur brought before the court in the early 1680s, was questioned as to a conspiracy to kill a subject of the King, was able to dodge and confuse the hearings, they retired for that session and then he fled to Ireland. His sons James and John and ultimately William lived in Ballymony in northeast Ulster.
i realize that this may NOT be your McKeen line but you can see the name goes Quite far back there are also a lot of McKleen noted in New Hampshire very early on & this line appears to eventually end up in canada
