The thing with Toyota is that they did not sign Michael Waltrip because of his driving talent, because let's be honest here...Mikey is a terrible driver. They signed him because they know that he will do whatever it takes to get his sponsor's name out there.
I myself call Mikey the Sponsor Whore because he whores around his sponsors. That man will do whatever it takes to get his sponsors some air time. Even with him missing some of the races he is getting them air time. I remember at race at California this season when he was wearing that super fugly hat that he got freaking air time because of that...and he wasn't even in the race!
Bascially enough...Toyota is using Mikey for air time and Mikey is using Toyota for money!

Toyota's team. Do you think that it is Michael Waltrip fault that the car can't qualify? He used to qualify rather well at Daytona in a DEI car.
I suppose this is Toyota's dilemma. They have the willingness to support their product thru Michael Waltrip Racing, and there are 3 drivers there. They have a championship driver with Dale Jarrett, and ain't neither of them (3) driving no hot rods. It is Toyotas problem. They even have Ty Norris there as somekind of competition director; from DEI. So me thinks Toyota has not had any NASCAR racing technology. What they wanted to do was race on Sunday and sell on Monday. The Toyota engineers are scratching their heads as you read this. doh.

No. Having a director fired, intentionally cheated, being docked 100 owner and driver points, and fined $100,000, I dont think so. I mean not qualifying for races, and the only Toyota who is having a decent season is Dave Blaney, and the only reason that Dale Jarrett is in the race is because of his past champions provisional. I figured he would save them for Daytona, Talladega, Bristol, Martinsville, Indy, and Charlotte. Those are my favorite tracks of the year also including Sonoma and Watkins Glen but still those are bigger then Las Vegas or California and you have only 6 times to use it. I wonder how long that rule will stay and how much longer Toyota is going to be in NASCAR as none of their teams are doing good. They cant mkae races and are constantly costing them more money. Doubt they will be their next year.

Toyota will stay with Michael Waltrip for a long time. They didn't sign with him for his driving prowess. They signed with him because he could put 3 cars at (not on) the track in a very short time. He is a well known personality in the NASCAR community and he can sell anything. Toyota will stick with him and will be very happy with the results.

The Waltrips' are the Waltrip's for a reason. I (f'n) hate Toyota in Nascar AND on the Street but I think Mikey will be the one coming out laughing in about 2 year's. I predict Jarrett won't be laughing anytime ever with Waltrip.....
No sponsor's are going anywhere including Toyota because of the ....um....contracts........first year economics...ooh....i think your parents paid for that.....ooh must of slipped your mind.......ooh.....forgot about those crazy papers called contracts.....

Toyota might stand him but if he and the drivers on his team aren't in the races then there is no exposure. I predict Michael Waltrip Racing will fold after this year.

Yes. Even missing the show, Michael Waltrip brings more media exposure and profit to his sponsors. He is the best product pusher out there. He, sadly, is a sponsor's dream. When he is in the race, he isn't shown much on TV anyway.
