what is the difference between palm trees and tress that have coconuts?

Palm tree is a general term applied to a certain trees that
have tall unbranched stem (Caudex and not codex) with a
crown of leaves at the top.
In botany most of them ( if not all ) belong to a particular family , Araceae.
Coconut is one of such palms.
All palms are not coconuts and all palms do not bear coconut
fruits.

They are both the same. A coconut palm tree is a species of palm trees. There are many kinds of Coconut Palm Trees as well, some are from the pacific and others from the Caribbean, each having their own characteristics and amazing qualities. The Coconut Palm Tree helps many indigenous people live comfortable on their islands. The Coconut Palm Tree has many uses, which include; leaves for creating a thatched roof, the actual coconut for food and oil, the trunk for fires and warmth, and the fibers for creating nets for fishing.

There are date palms, coconut bearing palms, and then there are tourist palms like in Fla. and Kalifornya that drop golf ball sized spiked nuts that twist ankles when you step on them. You can't eat the palm nut either. Palms are not native to Fla. or Kalifornya. They were imported from Hawaii or some place like that. They are useless for anything. No shade, no coconuts, can't hide behind them.

Palm is a type of tree with out branches and crown of leaves at the top.It is called codex type of stem
One type of palm produce coconuts.Date palm produces dates .So many types of palms are used as ornamental plants.
