Um... nobody "worships" the Buddha... it might look like that to you, but it's not. We test what he said, like he told us to, and we follow it if it makes logical sense to us (which it generally does. Buddha's works haven't been logically disproven in over 2000 years)... and we're grateful. I'm Tibetan Buddhist... I know the Buddha was a man, the word "Buddha" is a title not his name, and yes, the idea of an omnipotent creator being is illogical to us... what people do "mixing" isn't Buddhism IF this is even the truth you're saying...

Anyway... don't worry about it... if your concept of an omnipotent creator being works for you and teaches you wisdom and altruism, then I think that's what's best for you and you shouldn't be so worried about what others are doing.

As a buddhist i feel somewhat qualified to answer this.

The wroshiping you describe is actually not what they would call worshiping. By bowing down to a statue of one of the buddhas (its not always siddartha although you might not be able to tell the difference) they are using him a reminder of the path AND a practice of humbleness. To be able to bow down is a practice of ego-detachment.

Also Siddartha never taught about Gods, but he did believe they existed, like everyone else in his time. The gods however were not counted on to intervene with our lives. Also his culture believed with enough positive karma one could be reborn as a God, so clearly they did believe in supernatural beigs, just not a "creator" god

Provide proof of what you're accusing them of.
They're not worshipping Buddha. They use him as a focal point for their beliefs.
