I don't know if the other guy knows this or not, but sports violence is popular everywhere. The USA, Japan, the UK, Russia, Korea, Thailand, France, Brazil, ancient Greece, China, etc., all have had fighting sports. Martial Arts sports aren't the only violent sports either: Rugby, hockey, football, and so on are extremely popular. MMA is sports at its most basic form.
Violence is an inherit human trait, and we get entertained by it. That's why it's popular.

Because it have everything for almost all kind of competitive martial arts. Boxers, kick boxer, judoka, karateka, wrestler, BJJ, sambo, etc.... all will see something they like in mma. So it's no that hard for MMA to become wildly popular. Also pretty much every countries have some form of martial arts and young talents who would do well in the sport. So it's not that surprising MMA is very popular. I really think you should take some chill pills and visit few MMA gym and see what the guys are actually like.

Because Americans prefer instant gratification, barbaric physical conflict, and blood. I don't know why they even call this Mixed "Martial Arts." Americans have no idea what true martial arts, and their purpose, are. This MMA brawling has all the earmarks of gladitorial combat, complete with fans screaming for knockouts and blood, and for nothing other than a paycheck and the glory of the ring.
Why is MMA so popular? Because so few people are able or willing to actually commit to a true path in the martial arts. Instead, they would rather pump iron (and probably steroids) and brutalize opponents in the ring for money. What a country.

I like MMA because there are multiple ways in which people can win. Compared to boxing, the guy with the superior hand speed and punching power will win most of the time, but in mma you can use strategy and take people down who you might not be able to out strike and submit them. It's just better, more like a real fight.

Your question and a few of your comments for one reason. some people don't comprehend that issues are diverse in different international locations and areas of the international exceedingly whilst it includes activities. The Olympics is 2d to the international video games case in point in Europe in popularity on a similar time because it particularly is the different right here interior the States. you besides could could remember that right here interior the States now you have very almost all of us over the age of ten with a cellular telephone and on the internet and with extra televisions than bogs at residing house. Secondly a number of the followers of MMA are in simple terms no longer that sensible or state-of-the-paintings and think of and have self belief all varieties of junk. some do no longer additionally be attentive to the ordinary rules and ordinary chokes, submissions, and locks that are everyday and are in simple terms attracted to seeing knockouts, warring parties getting harm, and blood. They probable could be ecstatic to work out somebody killed even on a similar time as combating. Given the way MMA is shown and promoted in this united states of america and a few followers intelligence its no longer complicated to comprehend why a number of them could think of MMA is the main ordinary interest by the international.

First I'd like to mention Artfuldragon is an idiot for this stupid comment about Americans! RETARD! MMA is most popular due to its fast-paced action...it's not 10 rounds of glove on glove action like boxing! Many, like myself, love the technical skill of the sport! It requires knowledge and skill in so many forms of combat, hence the title "mixed martial arts!" Top MMA organizations arrange the greatest possible matchups in order to recognize the true top competitors unlike boxing...where the best fighter never defend their titles unless it's a lame, no-chance fighter!

Because boxing has lost it's luster ever since Spike TV put MMA action in the living rooms of men that are between the ages of 18-35 who were or/are boxing/pro wrestling fans. Pro wrestling will never die out because it has as strong a following as people who like Country or Gospel music, LOL.
