Yes it does. It deposits a light amount of semi-permanent tint to red/blonde/brunette hair, and the product seals your hair follicles to make them smooth and look shiny.

It's quite greasy though, best avoided if you have very oily hair.

I've tried the Luminous Color Glaze for brunettes and red heads (my color changes frequently), and I've found both to work fairly well. I haven't felt it was greasy at all. It does deposit a light amount of color on your hair, and the more often you use it and the longer you leave it in, the more dramatic the results. If you are nearing time for a new color, or overdue, it will provide a nice boost.

I tried the one for blondes and it didn't work for me...probably less effective for redheads since red hair dye washes out so easily.

It makes your hair very shiny.. but made mine very greasy within a few hours... So if you have greasy hair I wouldn't recomend it..
