My answer is a question. Why would you want to give someone a housewarming gift who hasn't bothered with you for three years?

Though it wasn't very nice of them to not contact you for 3 years before the housewarming, for the sake of etiquette, I suggest you take them something useful for the new house. A nice wall hanging or a piece of china to put on the mantelpiece. Don't go too expensive, though, it's not worth it.

They probably still like the things they liked three years ago. Plants are always a safe gift if they like plants and are not allergic. Towels are always useful, or blankets.

It's been three years. It sounds like they just contacted you to get a gift. I wouldn't give them anything.
