alot of people will take a rest period from the person they just broke up with. that seems like a good thing, gives you time to get over each other and see whether you really do want to remain friends. if you breakup but keep hagning out with each other straight away it might lead to confusion with where your relationship is at

If you want to get over him, you could start by being honest with yourself.

You don't like him, you don't want to be friends, you just think that offering friendship will make feel less guilty about it.

For some people this is extremely difficult, and for some it is just impossible. My own advice is to not contact or talk to him for several weeks. This gives both of you time to adjust to not being a "couple", then when you see him or talk to him again, treat him just as you treat your other best friends. Good luck to you!

If you really liked him you cannot just be his friend. If you can then you really didnt like him on that level to begin with. Nothing is wrong with that if you can handle it.

Can he????
