Hi, since your last visit, the only change will be the international flights into Bangkok via the new Suvarnabhumi AIrport. However due to some construction problems, some domestic flights are being reverted back to Don Muang Airport. The authorities are still working on the issue of airport repairs and flight operations.

As for Skytrain, as Nowhereman said, only the extension to Thonburi is likely. The rest of the lines are not ready. Though there had been expressed interest to link the new airport via the train service, seems like it may take till next year to see result.

There are plans to put in more lines, up to 5 lines as envisaged by the transport authorities, but not likely to be soon. Presently quite a bit of contradicting views within the present government on this, especially between the transport and finance ministries.

The new airport is open and operating. The old airport will open shortly to help with congestion and to make repairs at the new airport. BTS skytrain lines are being expanded also. From what I see they are working on the Silom line and its extention from the Thaksin station over the Chao Pharya river. Also working on the extention on the Sukhumvit line past the On Nut station, which will eventually link up with the new airport..

the new airport is open and fully running, Don Muang is now for only some domestic flights. As for skytrain, some new routes are planned but only one going from Thaksin to Thonburi should be open this year. Things change here every day and so does it's government.

the new airport has been open for a while now, but because of all the problems with it (the people who built it pocketed a lot of money so things like cracks (huge cracks) in the run way, foudation etc.). sopme of the domestic flights have moved back to the old airport don muang, anyway they are stlil building a bts to the new airport, I really don't understand why they did not build the bts at the same time as building the airport, I mean it'd be done by now..i don't get it why they started after
