Something that will fill him up and hopefully make him sleep for longer periods of time, maybe even the whole night through :) because that would be wonderful and is my ultimate goal.

Why should you not feed your child before bed? I'm just wondering, I've never had anyone tell me I shouldn't.

Try applesauce or make a healthy smoothie using 100% juice like NESTLÉ JUICY JUICE, fresh fruit and yogurt. You can also freeze this and make homemade popsicles. Maybe a crushed granola bar mixed with fruits or vegetables. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

my little guys get a small snack (cheerios or crackers) and a little cup of milk about 1/2 hour before they go to sleep. They sleep thru the night and don't wake up starving. If they don't have this snack before bed time they have a restless sleep and wake early starving. My boys eat supper at 5:30 pm and go to bed at 8:00 so if they didn't get the snack at 7:30 I understand why they wake up hungry.

I don't know if this is because they are just use to this snack before bed.

Good luck. Do what you think is best for your little one.

Anything low in sugar made with whole grain. (I'd try a couple sugar free teddy grahams)
Whole grains send a signal to the brain saying "I'm full."- hence why they make great foods for dieters as well.

Cheerios and Teddy Grahams are big snack food staples around our house for this very reason.

Other have suggested oatmeal as well, which is also a very good decision. Make sure it is a "snack" though and not a meal- portion size shouldn't be more then the size of your baby's fist.

best of luck!

i wouldn't feed before bed time cause the body will be working to digest the food so he won't get proper restful sleep. Just wondering has he never slept through cause most people i know including myself have had children that sleep through from 6-8 weeks.

im not positive, but the not feeding before bed thing is a digestion thing i think. honestly, i do not think you should feed right before bed...maybe an hour or so before give a snack IF he ate dinner. You dont want to make eating a bedtime ritual, one , because thats not good later in life and two because 18 months is old enough by far to sleep through the night without food. i also had a child who slept terribly so i know how you feel but hes proably not hungry he probably just doenst know how to or want to settle himself down when he wakes up at night which we almost all do. but in response to your question, bananas are pretty filling and easy to feed little ones, as are rolled up pieces of luunch meat or cheese for protein. i always gave a cup of milk before i brushed teeth but now i just give water. he wouldnt drink it at first but now he does half the time- i guess when hes thirsty. but i didnt want him to want milk and food in the middle of the night when he woke up because its bad for teeth and bad for getting them back to sleep since you have to get up and make it and wait for them to eat.

There is no one single Paleo Diet, as our ancestors from all over the world ate dramatically different diets depending on the climate where they lived, their landscape, accessibility to water bodies, and the latitude that they lived. This is a detailed meal plan for the paleo diet https://tr.im/uFmiX

In some cases, a Paleo Diet may be 90% plant foods and 10% animal foods, and in other cases, a Paleo Diet may be 90% animal foods and 10% plant foods.

For example, our ancestors that lived near the equator had year long access to more plant materials such as root vegetables and various fruits, veggies, and nuts.

On the other hand, our ancestors that lived at higher latitudes further away from the equator only had access to fruits and vegetables seasonally at one specific time period per year, and had larger periods of the year where they ate a higher % of meats, organ meats, fish, and other animal-based foods, or fermented foods that could be stored for winter.

late-night snacking is one of the worst habits you can get in to. When you eat just before bed, you don’t get the same metabolism-boosting benefit as you do during the day, because a couple of hours after dinner your body begins preparing for sleep. This natural slackening of your metabolic rate overrides any metabolic boost you might get from eating.

if you get him into the habbit of eating late night snacks you are asking for an obesse child

he's to not youthful in any respect. purely take outfits which you do not techniques identity they get stained and enable him get grimy. clean him up on the tip of the day or until now time for supper, yet different than that purely enable him play and have relaxing. one twelve months my kinfolk went camping out - my nephew became into approximately that age- there became right into a shallow flow that the youngsters performed in. My nephew would play in it with the different little ones and then come returned to learn in with mommy each and every now and then (as little ones that age do). He would be filthy- she would scoop him up replace his outfits and diaper, provide him a bath and enable him bypass play some greater, she did this a number of circumstances in some 3 hour era. We saved telling her to leave him a lone and enable him play and clean him up until now time for supper or bedtime- we've been camping out, he would be positive. ultimately she became into afraid she would run out of clothing, so she placed him in purely his diaper and footwear (something my kinfolk not often does) and enable play. She nevertheless wiped clean him up often and we instructed her to not, on condition that it particularly is all she would be doing. the subsequent twelve months after we went camping out, she had comfortable and enable him play- and his brother too. They get filthy yet so do all the different little ones and airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust would not rather harm them. It became into in comparison to we've been going everywhere specific. best advice, purely loosen up and have relaxing- enable him play stressful and don't situation if he gets grimy. Oh and while you're having unfamiliar food- in line with possibility p.c.. some food that he's familiar with in case he would not like what you're ingesting. i'm not prepared on letting little ones be choosy, yet each and every now and then we consume unusual stuff after we camp - so because it particularly is purely a theory.
