She talks NON-STOP about some stupid crap that I could care less about. Every time I talk to her, I get the biggest ******* headache. It's like she's pretending to care about me and help me out with my stuff, but it's not helping me. She's useless. It seems like she talks so much on purpose just to get on my nerves. She obviously HAS to see that she annoys the crap out of me. Why can't she just get on my good side.

I am a mother of 28 and 30 year olds. the 28 year old is married, My SIL is fine with me, but we also live 7 hours apart. THe issue is how hard it is to let go of your child. A mother , at least most I know, always see their children as their children. Think of how much intensity it took for the mom to raise a child for 18 years and the huge love commitment, and then poof, it is gone. It is not OK for your MIL to bug you. She may not know her talking bothers you,I talk a lot and am often not aware if a quiet person doesn't tell me. Just remember it is hard to let go of someone you have raised since birth. It needs to happen but there is no training session on letting go, it just happens and it is hard. !!!

Thank her for bringing your husband in the world for you! You need to find some common ground with her. Find something! Anything you both are interested in and try for your husbands sake to get along with her. I know MIL's are annoying as hell but they are your husbands mother. Hating her won't help the situation! Finding good in her will! Do it for your husband. If you really loved him, you would!

Sweet Sarah is right. It does not get better...even worse after having his children. You will not be a good mother and if she liked you before children, she won' t after you have them. Being a daughter in law is a pain!

Good Luck and Hang in there!
