Like.. if someone is overweight, or underweight, will their voice be worse or something?

It depends as several people have already said. If one is severely underweight it could effect their ability to sing with energy and precision due to lack of nutrition and lack of overall health in general. If a person is slender (I am) and in good health, people are always surprised at the size of my voice. They wonder where it comes from because I'm so 'small'.
Overweight is pretty typical with opera singers but if you listen to Pavarotti sing you think you've found God or Deborah Voight...
pretty moridly obese singers but massive beautiful instruments.
That doesn't mean they don't have other health issues but weight really doesn't have that much of an impact. Best to you.

It DOES affect it, but not in the way you think.

You know the stereotype of the "fat opera singer?" This is actually because many opera sopranos are larger. The extra weight is often partially muscle, as the stomach/diaphragm must be larger and stronger than average to make that high, big voice fill an auditorium!

And it's not just sopranos. Look at Aretha Franklin!

Underweight people (not thin, I mean dangerously underweight) will USUALLY have weak voices because they don't have the muscles to sing with.

However, there are exceptions to every rule, and health is a major factor. If one is very unhealthy due to weight, they won't be able to sing as well. Singing takes alot of energy and is actually a bit of a workout!

From my experience weight in itself has no bearing on the human voice. Some of the best vocalist have been over weight, i.e. Aretha Franklin and Luther Van Dross. The weight can cause other issues that could eventually affect the vocal chords, such as acid reflux (a killer of high crisp notes).

no. You use your lungs, and the more you sing and breathe correctly, the better you get. If you are older, you can probably sustain notes longer than someone considerably younger than you.
