Unfortunately, folks under 25 tend to get in auto wrecks at a much higher rate than more mature drivers. As a result, it costs a great deal more to insure them.
That said, you're not likely to find a rental company that doesn't penalize you for being a young driver.

I'm going to guess that this "extra" fee is just that people under 25 have a much higher insurance rate. And, you can't take a car hire without the insurance, so I don't see any way round it.....( sorry)

i own a shop,and once in a while we rent one to take on trips,give Avis a try,they rent to people 18 and over ,and you have a good selection of cars there to choose from also,good luck i hope this helps.

...from one of your friends... Corporate America (the auto rental industry) is NOT going to rent it till you're 25... Insurance coverage reasons... so... ask to borroy your buddys car...
