My boyfriend is on Paxil and he wasn't able to get the prescription refilled this weekend. Is there anything you can buy at a store to help with the withdrawl symptons until he can get it refilled on Monday? He feels really weird and kind of "crazy" is how he put it. Please help!!!

No, withdrawals are horrible. Call a medical clinic or hospital and see if they can get him 2-3 pills for the weekend. Or call the pharmacy. Or call the doctor for a sample pack. DON'T let him suffer, withdrawals only get much much worse. Beg someone for a couple of pills-- seriously! Here's a list of possible problems:

ask around their are several people on paxil or the same med. just different name or generic. call all your local pharmacies, one of them will more than likely lend you some until your refill. some pharmacies have emergency numbers, this is a good time to use those services. paxil isn't meant to ever be stopped abruptly. they usually taper it off.
good luck. wished you lived near me i have some! louisiana

Unfortunately there isn't anything he can take. Even more unfortunately, he may even experience the symptoms he initially had before getting on the Paxil, and they could be even worse. You really should never skip or miss a dose when you're on antidepressants.

when i stopped my paxil for a week i felt the same way. to help with the anxiety and "crazy" feeling i played jigsaw puzzles and sudoku to help the time and drank decaff pepermint tea. talking helps too.

But you should def talk to a doctor and ask them what he should do if he is feeling suicidal or very depressed. paxil withdrawal is diffrent for everyone!

Your bf has enough paxil in his system to carry him through until Monday. His symptoms are psychosomatic

GET TO THE HOSPITAL (ER) AND GET SOME MEDS TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE WEEKEND, that med can not be stopped cold turkey. Bad things could happen!!!!!!!!!!!!
