Now, we are very familiar with the same typical and predictable questions abut atheism, Christianity, Islam and other religions here.
A true religious person won't come here to waste his time; cuz almost nothing is considered and taken seriously. Even he'll get lots of thumbs down no matter how knowledgeable or scholar he is.
We all well-aware of it.
But then, what exactly you looking for?
For me, I come here to pass time with some witty heads and to learn a bit.

I would respectfully disagree that no true believer would participate in these forums.
I try to answer questions with some careful thought and reasoning. Admittedly, it is hard to do this thoroughly in the confines of this Forum. Nevertheless, I think some useful material is better than nothing. I realize that most responses will be lost in the noise of the casual and the hate-mongering. But every now and then I hear from someone who truly learned something or wanted to know more and that makes the effort useful to me.

I've met some very intelligent people whose posts are informative and interesting. Pangel, Father K, "Mayor" Jim -- lots of great folks with a terrific sense of humor hang out here. I get a kick out of coming up with something crazy to answer the WSIDR's silliness, and Tragic Typos' questions have just about made me go out and buy Depends on a couple of occasions.
Mostly, though, I come here to see if I can help someone else. That's why I started participating in Yahoo!Answers to begin with, and there are people who come to this forum in need of answers and/or prayer.
If something I say helps or makes a difference, then I'll consider the time well spent here.

I am here because there are some who come here honestly seeking The Truth... and... as you know... leave quickly when they get the welcome treatment from the male bovine excriment spreaders here... I manage to intercept one now and then... and I offer an email contact for them to ask honestly with out the garbage brain responders...I have noted that in the last weeks there are fewer and fewer honest questioners in the R&S area... I do not play the point game or seek the best answer points.... I respond honestly and often am asked followups via email.. if I think it apropriate I will post a link to info on my website if it pertains to the question asked...and I take followups from there as well.... There are honest seekers still

I look at all the categories, but find myself answering r&s q's a lot - some of these people really get my goat, and if I don't say anything, it eats at me...I am learning to leave the radical christians alone mostly, it's pointless to try with them, but sometimes there are some very interesting or fun questions in this section too.

Basically "ditto" to what you just said. But you have to consider the fact that there ARE some people look for serious answers here, and you never know who else might be reading the responses, even if the person who asked the original question wasn't himself really serious.

I have learned a lot about other peoples' beliefs and opinions that I don't think I could have gotten out in public unless I was willing to subject myself to standing on a busy street corner for weeks on end or in a mall asking a survey of questions.

I come here to learn about different things and to try to gain insight into certain groups of people and in some cases to teach [people about different things but alot of the times all I get is upset and annoyed by certain responses that I get.

I come to see how ridiculous some people can get. Some questions make me hope that the person is kidding, joking, and frankly, not as stupid as they come off. Others amuse me. Very few can I take seriously.
