My Mum can't watch early evening TV because she's cooking our dinner, so once a week my Dad orders in a Chinese so Mum can watch an episode her favourite soap. We go round Gran's when the omnibus is on but old-fashioned Gran won't have the telly on if she has visitors. Even just us.

Could you get your mum a portable telly for the kitchen so that she does not miss her favourite soap. Failing that perhaps your dad and you could help out so that your mum does not miss them. Most grans are old fashioned and set in their ways but she will not be around for ever so love her faults and all. Good luck

with my mum tv come first.
they may be repeating the soap on itv2 straight after but this doesnt seem to count. She will watch this as well but the tv come first.

Strange comming from the women who thinks she'd stand a good chance in the big brother house as she "gets on well and is flexable with everybody"- not that she'd ever actually go on the show you understand.

My suggestion to you? get a recordable video/dvd recorder and watch it later. Or go to your nans another day/time.

Invest in a DVR or VHS recorder and she can record these programs for herself and then allow her to have her TV watching time later. You two blokes need to get off your duff and help your poor mum, okay ol chap?
