The best way to deal with ear infections is antibiotics. So take your child to the doctor. If you cannot go to day try a warm compress and sometime oral for pain, Childrens Tylonal or IB Profin.

That is the best advice I can give you at this point. Where I am at they have Sat and Sun clinics so we have no problem getting our child seen.

as a child i suffered from ear infections, the pain is terrible, give child Motrin and get to a doctor, it's not a cold and it would just cause terrible pain to wait , the only thing that can cure an ear infection is antibiotics, the sooner you can get them into your child's body the better, the longer you wait even hours the pain will escalate and you will be up all night hearing my ear my ear with lots of tears, my mother felt you should almost be dead before going to an ER but for an ear infection we were there

My doctor once told me to heat up some baby oil on a spoon, let it cool a bit then use a dropper to suck it up and put it in the ear. She said to keep him laying on his good side for a minute and then put a cotton ball in his ear to keep the oil in. It works on minor ear infections and if the child has ear wax built up in the ear canal it will soften the wax and help it escape the ear.

I hope your baby feels better soon!!! Having a sick child is ALMOST worse than having a sick husband or man in the house.....lol :)

Ibuprofen, follow dosage for his weight. Also a warm compress to the ear that hurts can also help a little. I'm assuming you will contact his Dr. They will need to check his ear. He didn't stick anything in there did he? It happens a lot at this age.

Call your pediatrician to see if you can use an over the counter pain reliever call Simialson.(i am not sure that I spelled this right) I know that Wal-Mart carries it. I actually got it for my boys but had to use it for an ear infection I got last fall.

Good luck.

You can get one of those water bottles where you put very hot water in it then put the cap on. Its called a hot water bottle. They also have ear infection drops at your local pharmacy. You can use those until you get a appointment with the doctor. Also give him Tylenol or Motrin.

Until you get to the doctor..try some warm sweet oil or mineral oil on a cotton ball and put it in his ear...it will soothe it.

You may need to take him to the doc- sounds like a severe case! - Our pediatrician said some soothing things are a warm bottle (20 oz. drink bottle filled with warm water) laid gently against the ear, but that is after his prescribed anti-botics and such- Hope he feels better and soon!- Hard for you and esp. for him!
