Well, I think we will be able to have a short period of time 40 days to roam the earth and see others...as we transition from earth to elsewhere...then we go into NO TIME zone...where we could be there forever and think we just got there...Families will no longer matter...we will all be one...drawn to one light...we will feel very loved and fulfilled. We will not look for family to give us this feeling...there is no physical love ...it will all be good and we will feel very safe. We will recognize other loved souls that has passed even if we did not know the them . As for example your little brother...who died while he was an infant and you were not even born, you will recognize his soul...but no family bunches and society...Just think if a woman is married and became a widow; remarried..and became a widow again, and again remarried...who will she belong to at the end.... ???

She is a part of the light and belongs to God will all her previous loving husbands.... its just what I think....

Also, We have a lot of mention that people in heaven see others in hell, but can't relieve their troubles....not even with a drop of water....

We are told in Islam that if a husband and wife are both good people following the laws of God etc then they will find each other in heaven....I would assume that means extended family as well. I agree with the other poster about being in a state of limbo until judgment day and then not remembering even your own children when standing before God and being judged according to your deeds. Ive not heard any mention of being able to actually look down and see loved ones but that's something unknowable and so what you believe or what makes you happy in that respect cant hurt can it?

May the peace, blessing and mercy of God be upon you

For the first part, I can only confirm that the people of heaven can see the people of the hellfire, but I cannot confirm that we can see the people of the Earth.

As for the Second part I am pretty sure that we can be reunited with the ones we loved in this life, in the hereafter.

And God knows best

Peace Be With You

When a person dies, they are in a state of nothingness, they do not feel or hear or see,nor do they know whats is going on in the world .The souls are kept in this state untill judgement day when the dead are risen to face their maker and be judged on the things they have done, and based on what they have done during their lives, they either enter the eternal hell,or heaven

Tabari I:323 "I asked the Messenger of Allah how many prophets there were. He replied,
‘124,000.' I asked him how many of those were messengers. He replied, ‘313, a large crowd.'"

Bukhari:V8B76N550 "I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, ‘From my followers there will be a crowd of
70,000 in number who will enter Paradise whose faces will glitter as the moon.'"
Bukhari V4B54N470
"Verily! 70,000 of my followers will enter Paradise altogether; so that the first and the last amongst them will enter at the same time."
54,000 prophets have already been turned away. With odds like this i would say it is not looking good!

The Dead Messengers Totally Unaware

[5:109] The day will come when GOD will summon the messengers and ask them, "How was the response to you?" They will say, "We have no knowledge. You are the Knower of all secrets."

yes, that is right. you can see your loved ones from up there and when they die (god forbid) you will meet them up in heaven as well.
