If you are talking baby teeth, yes. The roots resorb since there is a permanent tooth growing under them then the tooth falls out. Adult teeth, no. Have you ever seen skelotons? They still have their teeth fully preserved because they are bone.

ADULT TEETH NO..UNLESS YOU ARE GENETICALLY PRONE TO ROOT RESORPTION OR IF VERY HEAVY FORCES ARE PLACED ON THE TOOTH DURING ORTHO TREATMENT OR IF YOU HAVE PERIODONTAL DISEASE ON THAT TOOTH OR IF THE TOOTH HAS SOME SORT OF PATHOLOGY IN THE NEAR VICINITY...THEN YON WILL HAVE ROOT RESORPTION ON IT.
