If you are a christian then magick is forbidden for you. It is considered the occult and goes against your very belief system. Why are you not trusting in your god?

As a practicing pagan and Witch, I also do not like to see christians mixing their dogma with our ways. Your question shows your ignorance....that you want power without having to pay for it. Nothing is free. You also seem to want a "fluffy" version with no sacrifice....strange for a christian. Your very religion is built upon blood and sacrifice.

Contrary to popular belief, the more mainstream magickal paths don't require any kind of sacrificing etc. Magick, is essentially the use of our Wills to effect the world around us. Parts of the King James version of the bible, were mistranslated in regards to not just the views on magick, but on other things as well. The part about not suffering a witch to live, is actually meant to read "poisoner" however witches and other such types were so tied in with herbal medicine and the idea of "potions" that witch, was something that King James associated with poisons and concoctions, he also was notorious for a bias against witches.

While many people will disagree, I feel that in the case of Christianity, that Magick is something that we all have the ability to do, as a gift from God. It's a part of the breath of life that connects us to the divine.

Magick is understanding that everything has energy, and using visualization and your intent to affect it. It takes practice, and you shouldn't expect to be able to do things like point at someone and light their hair on fire or something. You can use magick to attract good things to you, or bad things to others.

Using magick in and of itself is not evil, just like you can use a knife to cut a loaf of bread, or you can use it to harm a person, it's a tool that you decide how to use. Prayer is a form of magick, as is the ritual of the Eucharist. While some people indulge in ritual sacrifces, or bloodletting rituals, this is not the foundation or meaning of magick.

That said, I suggest reading up on Hermetics, which is a form of magical philosophy that I think would mesh with your belief system well. If you aren't the philosophical type, I suggest doing some reading on basic energy manipulation, or researching psionics. I hope that helps!

Well, as an "devout" Christian magic has no place in your life, sorry.

You see God said in Revelation Chapter 3:15-16, "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. So then because you are lukewarm neither cold nor hot. I will vomit you out of my mouth..."

What God means about being cold or hot is that, God would rather have a person who is 100% a pagan or all the way a Christian, but He won't accept anything in between...that means you...., according to you wanting to do both.

Then what's wrong with being a pagan?--let's see.... Could it be that God said that there is NOTHING incommon with light and darkness??

Listen, I'm not trying to say that you can't commune with these people it's just what the Father says!

Do you know why I call God Father? Because as Christians we are God's spiritual children. Because here's the hard truth.
God said that you and everyone who ever existed was naturally born in sin (because of Adam...remember?) and our father was first, the Father of lies, Satan. Again, what does light have in common with darkness...

You see what I don't want to see is God forsake you! Why, because I made a *pretty* big mistake in 05' that made me feel seperated from God like I never had been! It (asside from recoverying in 06) was the worst year in my life!

But I did what,--just what you're about to get into... I was messing with fortune telling, which I know realize is another name for mediums which God warns us as Christians of. Just look at the following scripture. "Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God." Lev. 19:31, KJV

Just believe that this is a divine interventition about something that can petintionally cause you harm.....Because, take my word.., if you open this type of door, it's hard to shut(to many days lost to involvment in the occult...).

And better yet, pray and ask God what He feels about this. Not strangers on Yahoo! Answer.

There's more power in God then you can find then any witchcraft; no reason to lower your standards now...

*And one more thing, I want to make it clear that I am not putting down anyone, just trying to rescue someone that already belongs to God.*

You're a little mixed up. No orthodox brand of Christianity would approve - especially when you spell magick with a "k"...lol. But there are some "Christian" forms of Hermeticism that interpret Christ mystically. "Rosicrucianism" was supposed to have been such a movement. Look into the "Golden Dawn" for a workable system based on its traditions.

real magick is all around you, every day. what do you think "the power of prayer is"? its magick. i am a witch. we practice magick. we do not sacrifice anything - ever! we are nature loving and respecting. but it sounds like the "power" you seek, will not come from witchcraft as we are at one with nature, not above it. the power you seek may come from christianity or satanism, so you're half way there.

My question to you is - what is it that you feel you are lacking from your spirit to want this so called 'power' in the first place. Power come from within, it isn't something you can command or demand. Wiccan's do not sacrifice anything by the way, it is a terrible misconception, we are a nature relationship.

As a Christian, look up the Rosicrucian order, or The society of the light. Those are Christian mystic organizations.

lol sorry this magic practioner is not about to share anything with a person who believes we "sacrifice or other stuff".
Power comes from within.. it's about polishing the mirror of your soul, and not about trying to gain power over others.

Ask God and your prayers will be answered!

"And lo, Moses asked the Lord, 'Lord, I wish to pull a rabbit out of a hat,' and it was done. Except the Lord took the 't' out and the creatures began to teach man.
And this is how the Rabbis came to teach the Chosen People." (Exodus 3:14-17)
