When i start my windows xp sp2 pc it gives me two of the same os options Windows Xp Home, and the top one works but the bottom doesnt how do i stop this from happneing every time i boot.

you go into your c drive and edit your boot.ini file (Make sure you set your pc to view hidden and system files) where it says timeout, put 0 instead of 30. This probably happened because you installed xp again in the same hard drive and it wasnt done properly.

Big Q is confused big time. He wants that OS choice option not to be displayed everytime he turns on the PC.

Here's how to get rid of it. Right click My Computer // Properties // Advanced // Startup and Recovery Settings // on the Defaut Operating System drop box, select the one you want to be used when you start PC, then uncheck the first box (Time to display the operating system), OK, OK to exit. From now on, you won't see that annoying screen anymore.

Just when you turn on your computer hit F8 or F5 and continue to do so until a screen shows up. Then pick the right O.S.
