so my ex boyfriend broke up with me a while ago because he, "needed a break". he told me not to worry since he was sure we'd be together again in the future. well one thing lead to another, and we kind of started disagreeing some, and to make things short...we almost never talk anymore.

so as time has passed, i sort of in a sense, have moved on a bit, in liking someone new. (an old flame that i guess never went out). and im sure my ex knows about this, and doesnt like it too much.

mmk well lately it seems like he's beein IMing me more than usual, and last night he IMed me being a complete ***. at first, im sure he was trying to make me mad, because he was talking about my friends and how he thinks some of them are "hot". then blah blah blah...and when i asked him to leave me alone, he started apologizing and being all sad. i asked him why, and he told me because i was shoeing him away and he was getting excited thinking about me. i was furious.

He's probably one of those people who only want the people they don't have, then don't want those people when they have them, etc.

Forget about him--don't get wrapped up in it. Move on; dicking around with this guy will not be to your benefit, will it?

Men are likely to remember and try to talk with old flames they miss when they are drunk. To me this is just him missing you, and you are a lot more attractive now that you are forbidden fruit and he can't have you. It is making him jealous seeing you with other guys and hearing about it...all of a sudden the things he didn't like about you he forgets with someone else there. It didn't work out for a reason, and this is just what happens when he finally sees it is over for sure. Move on with your life and make it clear to your old bf that you don't want him texting you anymore...obviously being "just friends" will not work with him, and by the way it rarely does with old boyfriends.

If he was really really drunk, then everythings accounted for. But, the things he said when he was drunk shows you what kind of a person he is. When you're drunk, you have no control and you spew out everything in the back of your mind. He's trying to make you feel insecure and jealous. By telling you that your friends are hot, he is trying to shrink your world. He wants you to feel that if you don't take the chance with him now, it'll be too late later.

He's your ex now, so break off all ties with him. You won't be able to move on if he's still messing with you. Tell him you are done with him and you'd prefer it if he leaves you alone, tell him he's the one that wanted things ended so he can just deal with it now. Don't get suckered back in by feeling bad when he gets "all sad" about it. I've found that it's much easier to move on if you just stay away from the people you break up with.

it seems to me that if someone wants a relationship they progress positively, setting goals, talking about the future, etc.
the last time you were together ...was it a good experience?
everytime you talk to him...did you leave feeling good..? wanting more? if yes...work it out. if not...if he's not trying to work on the relationship...instead he's pulling away and acting like an a^^ to you. that's not a good feeling for you nor is it good for the relationship. A person knows what they like and will handle what they like. your guy likes chaos. do you?

He could be thinking plenty of things.
Either he doesn't want you but at the same time he doesn't want anyone else to have you.
Jealousy....
