Is the speed of the vehicle erratic? If so, it may be the accelerator actuator. I had mine go out, cost $350 to replace (at the dealer).

1995 Pathfinder uses a cable drive speedometer from the output shaft of the transmission.
The inner core rotates, varying with the speed of the drive shaft.

Over time, the inner flex shaft breaks where the outer cable housing is bent fairly tightly.

They're a pain to replace, and quite time consuming. The dashboard needs to be pulled forward to be accessed.
