Let's see:
1. The primary symbol is an instrument used to torture a man to death.
2. There's the idea that God hated everyone so much that He'd only be appeased by having his own son killed -- infanticide.
3. And the primary ritual is to mimic cannibalism.

Gee, now there's a recipe for a healthy mind! No wonder so much hate and violence comes from it. People think it's permissible to do what their gods do. What a sick, twisted and insulting conception of a Supreme Being.

Oh, cut us some slack, will you? If there's anybody that's hate-filled and vicious, it seems to be you atheists lately. Take a look at this forum, and let's just see who's spouting the hate and violence, shall we?

I've seen posts this afternoon suggesting that it's time to start feeding Christians to the lions again, but so far, no Christian has suggested putting all you atheists in a concentration camp.

And you routinely insult us, our intelligence, and our Savior, but I haven't seen any Christian posting things like, "Isn't it time that we declare atheism a myth?" or "Do atheists really think or do they just parrot Darwin?"

A lot of y'all have no room to talk about anybody else holding sick, twisted, and insulting concepts of anything. You seem to have that market cornered all by yourselves.

And yes, this is one Christian who's fed up with your line of manure.

Think you might be missing the point slightly.

Our primary symbol we love because grace and mercy was shed on it by the blood of our saviour. We have the guilt every time we sin of Jesus being on the cross, but we will, fortunately, never feel the pain that he did, just so that we could be free from evil.

God sent his son because He LOVED everyone so much and didn't like seeing the mess people on earth had made of his creation.

And our primary ritual is worship, which is singing, dancing praying etc, and communion, which I assume you are talking about, is to help us remember and to put into perspective that Jesus' body was broken and his blood was shed, all so that WE can live, in his crucifixion.

The crucifixion was the shame of the world but the Glory of God.

And as Christians, we are called to be forgiving, otherwise we cannot be forgiven by our Father (and honestly, if we canot forgive ourselves, why should we expect it?)
So to answer your question, Christianity is not filled with hate, but if you look into our faith, love is the fundamental ingredient to why we are Christians.

Hope this has cleared things up for you.

Let God be in all you do

It's interesting that you post this, so that Christians can see their faith from another POV.

While I do tend to agree with you on number one, I know that other Christians do not. Most of them view the EMPTY cross as Christ claiming victory over sin and death, or something like that. I can see their point even if I don't exactly agree.

Number 2, I don't believe (nor do most Christians, I am thinking) that God hates anyone, or ever hated anyone. Christ's death was symbolic of the sacrifices done in the temple of the firstlings of a flock, which had to be perfect, for the remission of the sins of the person. He was the firstborn, physically (and, as I believe, spiritually) of our Heavenly Father, and was perfect, so His death was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. The only difference is His resurrection from the dead three days later.

Number 3, Christ Himself instituted the sacrament of Communion, so that we will always remember His sacrifice for us.

As far as hate, anyone who hates any who are not of their faith are, IMHO, insecure in their own faith, or lack of faith. It's like a school yard bully who picks on kids smaller and younger than himself, so that he can feel the strength and power that he feels is lacking in his life.

If you hate Christians when you are not a Christian, you are, IMHO, secretly worried that CHristians just might be right, but you don't want them to be right. And vice versa.

Some Christians seem to hate other Christians. Same thing; they are, IMHO, secretly afraid that they might be wrong and the other person/people/group just might be right.

Hope this helps.

Okay, first, Christianity is filled with love, not hate. I'm sorry but you have the wrong idea.

The cross is the symbol because it symbolises love's greatest sacrifice. Jesus said, "There is no greater love than that of a man who lays his life down for a friend." The cross also symbolises our Salvation. Jesus died on it to save us, all of us.

God didn't kill his own son because he hated us, but because he loved us so much that he couldn't bear to see us all spend eternity in Hell. God loves all of us too much to watch that.

Communion isn't mimicing cannibalism. It is actually meant to honor the Last Supper. When Jesus said, "Take this and eat it. This is my body," (NIrV version) it was a metaphor. It was meant that He is God and He will feed our hungry souls.

Are you trying to make a point, or are you honestly curious? Because I can understand where you are coming from, but let me tell you this: People with hate are not Children of God. And if everyone would just love the Lord, the world would not be the way that it is.

Thank you for listening to me.

The question should be:

Why does everyone feel compelled to question Christianity and Christianity alone, when so many other religions are not much different from the deeds of the followers of the past and the present, to the indoctrination of the religion itself.

My answer, first, true Christians are filled with Peace and Joy, and are discouraged by the Lord himself to hate.

1. We all must be reborn in the spirit of God to truely understand his Love and Grace, which is probably why you think Ghristianity is filled with hate.
And the Cross represents the ultimate sacrifice, so that our sins my be washed away and that we may all have a way into the Kingdom of Heaven.

2. The devil twisted the words and actions of God, this is incorrect, For in John 3:16, It is said, "For God so LOVED the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in [Jesus] will have eternal life"

If God allowed a person filled with sin into the Kingdom of Heaven, then that would be like polluting water, He cannot allow sin into Heaven, though it pains him to see each person go into eternal darkness, he cannot allow a heart that follows His enemy into his house, for they would seek to rob his family from all they own.
(Not to mention, Jesus was ressurected)

3. Are talking about communion? (No one ever ate Jesus...)By eating the bread, we are reminded that Jesus' body was broken, so that all of our spirits would have the choice of freedom. By drinking the wine, we are reminded of how Jesus' blood was spilt to wash away all of our sins, big and small.

And the hate and violence comes from those 'false Christians' who are filled with Greed, Fear, and Pride.

A true Christian, one who Loves God with all their Heart, Mind, and Soul (for this is the greatest Commandment) and Loves their Neighbors, and even their enemies - is filled with Love, Faith, Hope, Peace, Joy, and Patience.

And, by the way, Love is the act of patience, kindness, Not allowing oneself to be jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. The act of not demanding your own way (for we wish to control, but we must understand that if we put God in control, our burdens will be lifted and will will be safe), Love is the act of not being irritable. The act of forgiveness, Love is the act of rejoycing in truth, but saddened by injustice, Love is the act of not giving up, the act of Having Faith, and Hope, no matter what.

Love is not an emotion, but an action. And God loved us from the very begining. You are looking at God through a funny-mirror, the image is distorted. God's plan is too great for anyone to even imagine, and he never fails.

He blessed Isrial, then gave his son to the Earth, but many turn from him; shun his wisdom, and welcome the devil, even some who claim to follow him.

Do not judge another, until you walk around in there shoes for a bit.

I do not agree.
1. Empty cross means that Jesus is alive.
2. Jesus was the very center of God's will by loving choice. He made us the way to the Father's house. We all qualify, we just need to take the offer and show Him by our deeds that we follow Him. We get saved only by mercy and grace of God.
3. Jesus asked us to have communion in remembrance of Him. The bread is His body broken for us, and the wine is His blood shed for us, for forgiveness of our sins. I do not know any more noble thing for any person to do for another than die to save the lives of others. : )

You can twist this loving message. You have a free will. God respects your choice. : )

I certainly don't know about #3.

Canabalism!

You'll have to clarify that one.

God was trying to make a point. A point that we take our corprial lives too seriously.

SCIENCE says the MASS of the UNIVERSE cannot be destroyed, henced you CONVERT (Hindus call it reincarnation).

You don't DIE, you CONVERT.

Jesus resurrected.

It's a point God and Jesus were trying to make.

If you don't get it, you don't understand Relgion or Science!

ATOMS can't be DESTROYED only changed.

The MASS of the UNIVERSE is ALWAYS CONSTANT

Nothing MORE, NOTHING LESS

You are still here, just in a different form.

If you are a master at things, you can restore your previous form.

If you are not, then you become what you become.

If you believe in Christianity you can blame Adam and Eve for the hate. If you were to make a race of living beings and they didn't trust you and did what you told them not to i bet you would be pissed too. If you don't believe in Christianity than through all the hate and pain there is God's forgiveness and mercy. That is what it is all about.

I agree with you 100%.
My theory is that simply, the bible was written 2000 years ago and people were VERY barbaric back then. They did not have the technology we have today, life was hard and there were constant wars and death etc. It was a horrible time to live in and the bible very much reflects that, thus all the hatred and violence.
