a car..they can be driven any time of the year. with a motorcycle, you always have to factor in the weather, plus you always have to travel lightly. With cars you can take road trips.
I think motorcycles are practical for commuting purposes and are fun if you have biking partners, but i still say they aren't as safe as a regular vehicle. Besides, most young men get all crazy and want to do stunts and end up crashing their bikes or hurting themselves which costs lots of extra money..

MOTORCYCLE!!!!! IGNORE ALL OTHER FRUITY CAR LOVERS!!! Lol!
Seriously manny! When i ride its honestly like flying! The relationship between rider and bike is far more intense as every move you make translates through the bike and onto the ground! your an active participent every second of the ride and it really makes you feel alive! Rather than simply being a passive pasenger inside a cage.
Don't get me wrong everyone here that has said a bike is dangerous and that cars have dificulty seeing them is ABSOLUTLY RIGHT!! A bike is more dangerous than a car but a car is fairly dangerous to begin with no? With the right amount of time, practice, knowlige and care you will be just fine. If motorcycles really were THAT bad they would be banned or made road illegal!
Get yourself booked into a saftey riding school check out the web for tips on bike safety and get out there and enjoy the sport! YOU WONT LOOK BACK!!!

With the cost of gas what it is, if you don't have to go far to work or school or wherever you need to go, a motorcycle makes sense. They're also easier to maintain. But if the weather is crappy and you have a long way to go you'll wish you had a car. Small reliable used ones are the best way to go.

I had a Gold Wing all dressed out for a few years. It was fun, but when it rained you got wet, when it was cold out so was I, and when you fall off it hurts like hell. I vote for the car.
Further, a lot of small cars get better gas mileage than the cruiser bikes.

I have had both. There are times when you need a car no matter what and a bike can't cut it. Get a car first.
