Oh I know what he means. In some cultures, we are not allowed to live together but we should marry in order for man and woman to live together. but in this part of the world, yes many people prefer to live together before committing themselves to each other. They do marry eventually though. I run a wedding shop and I can assure you people here also get married even though they already live together prior to the wedding.

Marriage varies from place to place- but the meaning behind it doesnt. Just because someone comes from a more developed country doesnt mean thier marriage is any less important than some one who didnt.
Marriages and weddings are not the same all over the world. They are practiced differently pretty much everywhere.
