i'm workin on this poblem where solver suggest 7.3 trucks! of course its a truck so i cant have fraction, how do i set it up to suggest only whole numbers? i have solver and premium solver

Because you still need a partial truck load delivered, you want to use "roundup" so that it will be rounded up to the nearest truck. If the answer is in A1, then use:

=ROUNDUP(A1,0)

The 0 tells it to round up to the nearest whole number.

I don't think solver can do integer. They think in 1 and a half man , that is how they can solve the problems you give em. You decide to hire 2 or 1 man based on your final judgement.

Hi,

You need the round function.

Syntax

ROUND(number,num_digits)

Number is the number you want to round.

Num_digits specifies the number of digits to which you want to round number.

If num_digits is greater than 0 (zero), then number is rounded to the specified number of decimal places.
If num_digits is 0, then number is rounded to the nearest integer.
If num_digits is less than 0, then number is rounded to the left of the decimal point.
