The holes are a darker red and surrounded by a faint white. The bigger ones look to be about the size of the little balls in the tips of cheap ballpoint pens and the smaller ones look like someone quickly pierced me with a pin and withdrew, but the hole didn't coagulate. They're on the tip of my left ring finger, at about the place which I would use to type or play the piano or guitar.
A few months ago, when I was playing my electric guitar, the tips of my fingers became raw, which was normal, but the skin on that particular finger looked almost shredded, and took a much longer time to heal. When it was rubbed raw, it almost itched a little. Like I kept wanting to apply pressure to it, like that from a fingernail to alleviate the itchiness. It doesn't hurt or anything but I just wonder if I ought to get it checked out. Does anyone know anything about this? I would really appreciate it. Thank You.

Get it checked out. Could be a staph infection if bacteria entered the site when it was rubbed raw in the past.

fungal infection or bacterial. if you it does not bother you much use antibiotic cream and anti fungal cream. you can have athlete's foot on your hands.
