Relax and have a good and fun time, stay loose and enjoy without getting caught up with thinking too much at this point.
If you think your pro is telling you too much for you to compute then do not be afraid to say let's slow down. You are playing a game to have fun not go on tour.

Make sure that you let the teacher know that you are a TRUE beginner, and he/she should teach you appropriately.
It's true that proper golf etiquette is important, but don't go overboard. You're there to have fun and to learn the great game of golf.
If you do decide to stick with the game, I would recommend private lessons. They are more personal, and they are not trying to teach the same thing to multiple people at one time.

The first thing you need to know about is golf etiquette. You will look like a fish out of water without this knowledge. I would do some searches for some basic etiquette stuff.

Respect the course. If someone that is working there (grounds crew member, ranger, ect) catches you damaging the greens, tees, driving the cart on either of those, they get quite upset and make the course play harder the next day or turn on the sprinklers where your cart is and possibly on you. Trust me I'm one of the people that you don't want to get mad, I make the new hole positions and if i see people disrespecting my hard work, i show no respect for how everything plays... I may put holes on severe slopes, 4 feet from collars, or put it right by bad grass caused by carelessness from idiots messing around... so just be respectful out there, people do hard work to make the game enjoyable

Take the advice you hear from your coach and others with a grain of salt. Every body's swing is a little bit different so don't be afraid to do what is most comfortable for you.
