Hi helpers! This is kinda worrying me to the point of panic attacks. My girlfriend was raped 6 years ago, and again 2 years ago.

During sexual intercourse, she has a pain like period pains, in the same place as period pains. I really really really want to know what this could be, as we are both extremely worried.

Any professional help would be so appreciated. With all due respect, if you are not sure about this, please don't leave an answer. I don't want to have to worry about things that may not be the case.

Thank you so much in advance, everyone!

I knew two women who began having pain like that after they had a child. Pain usually is a signal for you to go to a Doc and see what can be done to fix it.
The best of luck. She has to be a very strong girl.

Is it pain when you have sex in a certain position? Some women have pain when they have sex in the "rear entry" position ("doggy style"). This can be based on the lay out of her anatomy.

She could possibly have lesions in her uterus (endometriosis) that could cause her to have pains during sex. She could also have something going on with her cervix. There are many many things that could cause pain during intercourse, and she needs to go see her doctor.

Especially with her unfortunate history, she needs to have a good relationship with her OB/GYN and be tested for all STDs, even if she was tested after the rapes. Sometimes we don't show physical signs and symptoms of STDs until a long time after we acquire them.

Another possibility is that there is lingering emotional trauma over her rapes causing psychosomatic problems. All areas of her health and well-being really need to be taken into consideration.

I wish you all the luck, both of you. And I hope that you'll be encouraging to her to seek the medical advice she needs and be there for her no matter what the outcomes.

Your girlfriend should have a thorough vaginal examination. This sounds like an infection.Abdominal pain with intercourse may be a symptom of the sexually transmitted disease chlamydia. Left untreated, chlamydia can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease, which causes inflammation and scarring that can make sex unbearable. Once diagnosed, most infections are easily treated with antibiotics or, in the case of yeast, antifungal creams or pills. You may have to be treated as well.

Many women have pain during intercourse. I assume she was thouroughly checked after each assault. I also assume if she is sexually active she has a relationship with a gynecologist. Be sure to use lubricant in case the pain is caused by dryness. I'm feeling there is nothing to worry about and a quick check by her docotr will put your minds at ease.

This first thing to do is go to the Obgyn and have a proper examination to make sure there isn't anything wrong physically.

If she hasn't got a physical problem then she needs to go to a psychiatrist to discuss the problem - it may somehow be related to the trauma she experienced which now manifests itself as cramping every time she has intercourse.

I do hope you get this sorted out - and that it's nothing too serious.

sounds like Vaginismus which is an involuntary contraction of the muscles of the vagina. It makes penetration difficult and painful.

It may be caused by physical trauma (such as vaginal tears during childbirth) or psychological trauma, such as rape.

Your GF should see a doctor for appropriate investigation and treatment. Unless there is scarring from a physical injury, the treatment typically involves counseling and relaxation techniques. Sometimes antidepressant or anti anxiety medicine may help.

I would assume she has had gynecological exams since this took place. If not she definitely needs to have one as soon as possible. To rule out STD's, that may have progressed, but had been missed before. Only a thorough exam will show any abnormalities ,if there are any. If it's nothing physical, it could be possibly psychological too. Good luck to you both.

just your question should make you realize maybe you should hold her hand and say its fine, ill go to the dr. with you and we'll find out what this is. or maybe your thang is too long, or too wide for her, maybe since she's been raped she no longer feels as comfortable with sex. Don't ever rush her, maybe you should think about getting jellys and doing a lot more foreplay, like going down on her, for like 10-15mins, and sweet talking to her, asking her questions always be very open when it comes to sex, tell her she can tell you what she likes without being embarassed, I sure wish that'd happen to me more often, I feel like sex has hurt more then it should because guys take it too fast.

Tell her to go to her obgyn. That's the best way to know exactly what is wrong. After all, how do you know that the people who are answering your question actually doctors??? Or even know what they are talking about?
