I think it is quite all right in the world of globalization. If he/she sends you any message, just reply politely like you do to your friends. There is nothing wrong on the matter. Who knows? This stranger might be one of your great friends or colleagues in the future.

Check on your email options "bounce to sender" so the stranger will know you're not interested in receiving mail.

I really don't think you are in any danger, but you should make sure your password is not something easy to find out, like your last name.
