does he still wake up wet at night? if he does let hm stay in the pull ups, it will save both of you from a lot of stress. lots of kids wet the bed. it is a verry common problem.
some doctors give out different types of medication...
but DO NOT PUT HIM ON DDAVP OR ANY KIND OF PILL, OR NASAL SPRAY!! I had to go to the hospital for 2 days because of dehydration when I was on some of the bed wetting medications. also you can try waking him/her up before you go to bed, but don't get him up 2-3 times a night. this will cause him to loose much needed sleep and will cause you to loose much needed sleep. limiting drinks goes back to the dehydration problem. if you limit them to much you will have more problems.

I can also say that withholding drinks, waking up in the night, medication, and the whole list of crazy things that people on this site suggest do not work. medication for bed wetting has some nasty side effects that are worse than the bed wetting (IE. vomiting, dehydration, ect...) and when you wake them up in the night they only loose sleep which makes them do worse in school, and sometimes makes the bed wetting worse. you can try counseling, but that has a very low rate of sucess.

what I have found to be the best solution is to wear goodnites to bed. these keep the mess down and are a very good way to handle the problem. give him time, and he will out grow it. ether he will get used to the stress and it will go away, or the stress will go away and the wetting with it. he will out grow it one way or another.

you know, my soon to be 5 yr old (in sept) still sleeps in diapers at night only. I say until they are ready. As long as they are fully potty trained during the day - let him sleep in pullups. Just make sure you have plastic over the childs mattress and xtra sheets on hand in case they pee the bed in the middle of the night. Thats why Im a big fan of just waiting it out.
On the other hand, kids like to know what other kids do. So say ...So & So in your class doesnt sleep with pullups - wanna try?

Let him pick out big boy undies, and tell him that they don't make pullups in his size anymore. And if he wets his bed have him help you put new sheets on the bed and wash the dirty ones, that way he will be able to understand that if he doesn't get up at night to go to the bathroom then he will have to clean up his mess. Its a cruel punishment but if you don't do something, then his bladder won't mature the way it is supposed to.
Good luck

Does this child have a medical problem? If not look into why they feel the need. Are the drinking before bed? Im sorry but i feel 4,5,6 is all too old for pull ups.

My children were totally dry and clean by 3 all the time. I can see pull ups while you are training the child, for use out and about in public. Easier then having to take them home and wash them, But at home at that age they should be in regular under clothes.

You can buy blue chux to go under the sheet. Depends make them. If the child has an accident it will keep the bed dry......

If your 6 year old doesn't need the Pull Ups, let them pick out some underwear - something special, just to wear at night. If they are still needing the Pull Ups, you may want to start with a visit to your doctor, who may give you a referral to a pediatric urologist. We went through this process with our son, who just turned 10, and still NEEDING the Pull Ups. The urologist will rule out urological conditions that may be causing the nighttime wetting. We have tried waking every few hours, two types of bed alarms, limiting fluids, medication... we have done it all. Some kids just have to grow out of it, apparently.

Are they still wetting their pullups? Or are pullups just a comfort thing?

If s/he is still wetting then you need to find a way to prevent that.

If it is a comfort thing maybe try getting special night time underwear that she picks out.

In shops the place they sell wellness center kit and ingredients (some drug shops have extra beneficial than others) they sell mattress pads for incontinence. additionally, shops like WalMart or aim (or on line) have plastic, zip-on, mattress covers that don't fee very lots. i ask your self in case you ought to tell the mummy which you will possibly desire to purchase, say, 2 mattress pads (they're definitely cleanable) and a zipper-on disguise (wipes sparkling with 409 or different spray air purifier) to make your existence extra handy and his mattress in good shape. He ought to nevertheless placed on the pull-ups (besides the certainty that "good Nights" are designed specifically for infants with mattress wetting issues). infants with a bedwetting subject have a topic they might't administration. now and back that's a physiological subject. now and back that's an emotional one. I, in my opinion, does no longer have the ten 12 months previous interior the mattress with the six 12 months previous. To a six 12 months previous a 10 12 months previous sounds like a grown up. Why in the international might a 10 12 months previous boy be prepared to sleep in his brother's urine if he did no longer have "reason" to? in the event that they only have one mattress i might think of it would be seen negligent (at superb) to make the ten 12 months previous sleep in a mattress with a mattress wetter. He merits extra effective than that, besides the certainty that as their babysitter, i think there is no longer something lots you're able to do different than tell him he ought to ask his mom to grant him his very own place to sleep - whether that's the settee. the ten 12 months previous must be victimizing the little boy, in the different case he must be being victimized himself by making use of being expected to sleep in that mattress. He must be inspired to speak up for himself in a well mannered way. conversing on his behalf may be a good concept too. Leaving an empty trash bag for the urine soaked outfits, sheet, and mattress pad might make getting the stuff to the laundry extra handy. Throw out the bag later on (or re-use it a pair of circumstances if somewhat mandatory). pass away yet another bag for the moist Pull united statesto pass to the trash. If mandatory, placed a pair of cheap plastic sandwich bags on your palms to %. up the moist stuff and then, if there have been a plastic disguise on the mattress, making use of paper towels and spray air purifier on the mattress does no longer be too vast a deal. If the mummy is rather that "absent" i won't be able to help yet ask your self if those young infants desire somebody to intervene.

buy those puppy pads, just don't let them know they're PUPPY pads. Place dry undies and a dry pad on the nightstand. Place the pad on top of the sheets. In the event of an accident, they could get up and change their underwear, replace the pad themselves and go back to sleep.

With my daughter, we just had to stop letting her wear them. After a few times of wetting herself and waking up extremely uncomfortable and wet, she didn't do it again. It's really easy as long as you don't mind doing laundry for a few days.
