How do you recover from hair breakage?

I've suffered a large amount of hair breakage, and now I have alot of stray hair sticking out all along my head. I'm not talking about the normal amount of hair breakage either. I use Biosilk shampoo and biolage conditioner, redkin antisnap leave in treatment, but still my hair is having a tough time reducing the breakage. I'm wanting to reduce this as well as get these stray hair to stop fraying all over the place. What do I do?

PS:I need to clarify: I'm not suffering from split ends. My hair is BREAKING, meaning it's breaking anywhere from the middle to closer to the root. I'm having short and random stray hairs popping out.

Heat styling and blow drying can make hair more dry. Use a super absorbent hair towel (ex. Aquis or The Body Shop) to minimize time needed to blow dry.

Use a deep conditioner as needed. Joico K-Pak conditioner is excellent. You can use it every day or as a hair mask. Joico also makes K-Pak shampoo which is good for dry, fragile hair.

Use a wide toothed comb after shampooing to remove tangles and start from the bottom working your way up gently. Dry hair can be brittle so treat it gently and do not brush it while it is wet.

Avoid styling products with a high alcohol content (ex. hair spray) and use a heat protection product before blow drying or styling.

Kiehl's Silk Groom or jojoba oil are good. They will help smooth down your hair while conditioning it.

I use to have the same problem, It could be from dying, lack of moisture, or split ends that keep creeping to your crown. The fly aways I use Pal Mitchell Express Hold me tight. It is a finishing spray, This holds down the fly aways. This product does not feel and look like a hair spry in your hair. Also your the Paul Michell Moisture shampoo and Conditioner. If you are see breakage look at your hair and see if you have split ends. Which look at the tip of our ends and you will see this little white dot and to test this just pull bellow and if it breaks in the spot were you saw this, It is a split end. You must get your hair trimmed because these split ends will just keep creeping up to your crown (I had this experience). Also do a home remody use olive oil once a month put this treatment in your hair lather it, and wash it out a couple times wit out shampoo, when the oil is gone then shampoo and conditioner. (The salon I use to work at charges $200.00 for this) Good luck. It will take some time getting your hair back to normal, Plus try not using a blow dryer and a hair flattener.

well when ur younger ur hair grows nice n faster b/c of the exercise n deit u've grown up with...i had the same problem u have i use to have long hair down where my bra strap is and i choped it to ear length and it took awhile to grow back...but now its past my clavical...took 2yrs to find the best way to grow it back...what i do is i use oil base condionter n shampoo and precondition my hair b4 i wash it like hot oil treatments or put cond. on the ends of my hair then i wash it and i leave a lil put of cond. on the ends to keep it perfect from the heat n also from brushin it like crazy..i also take prenatal vitamins which help b/c of the folic aicd and vitamin b...also just trim the ends where u see a split end not to much just enough so it won't go ne higher...if u try this method it should help the hair to come back nice b/c i told my friend the same thing n she can't stop tellin me thank u

Trim off all of your split-ends, then use restoring shampoo and conditioner (pantene restoratives), and use hair protection when applying heat to your hair because heat causes a lot of hair damage. =)

go to the salon and ask them what treatments they recommend..
