I want to use the iPod on computers running the Linux operating system. Where can I find an open source version of iTunes that runs on Linux and supports the iPod?

There is no open source version of iTunes. You can get iTunes to run using WINE, but there may be some issues with it.

If you want to use your ipod with linux but not necessarily with itunes, the ipod is supported under many linux distributions, for example, ubuntu has support right out of the box, simply plug it in and access is there.
