Yes it will be ok to use this sealed can of soup. I used to run 2 food relief places and our general rule was if its sealed and no more than 1 year over best by it was ok to give out and we never had a complaint.

Yes, If you're at all worried, just boil it a little longer, but it's perfectly fine.
Just make sure that there are no dents in the can and that when you open it there's no whoosing air sound. That's trouble and NOT safe to eat, particularly the air sound.
The same goes for it if doesn't "look: right or "smell" right, much less taste "right". But at only 2-1/2 months, I wouldn't think twice about eating it. It's really not a problem. I wouldn't have a problem if the can were a YEAR old. Food that is canned undergoes a pretty rigorous process for preparation, for sealing, use of preservatives added, etc.
And, remember that, most importantly, foods that are sealed--whether by canning, vacuum packing, or in a sealed tin are air tight.
Exposure to light and air or just flimsy packaging are the real dangers of stored food--so, fish or meat in its original packaging should be tossed after a certain period of time, no questions asked.
Now, if you were saying that the can is TWELVE-and a half years old, then I'd toss it, no questions or can opener asked. No hesitancy, no second guessing.
So, eat the soup and enjoy it. You'll definitely live many more days to post on Y Answers--unless you get hit by a train, a Mack truck, an enraged toddler with a knife who is royally pissed bc you made him eat his broccoli,...

There is a reason for expiration dates. To be on the safe side DON'T eat it. Is that 49 cent can of soup worth a trip to the emergency room?

yes--since it says BEST BY u might lose some flavor but it will be fine to eat unless u save it for another couple years, in which case the can may start to decompase and mix with the some and then i would highly unrecommend eating that soup--unless u feel like eat can of condensed cream of celery soup with aluminum flakings for extra seasoning.

As long as the can is not compromised, it's OK. Mostly those markings are for store use, they remove the items when the stamped date expires. The clue is " best before" Still good, but the farther you get from that date, the more you would think twice. When in doubt, throw it out.

Yes. Those dates represent when a product still has 80% of it's nutritional value. It is still eatable 2-3 years later. This is for canned goods only. Things like milk, eggs, milk products are the exception. Packages of cookies, chips, flour, can get stale, and in enough time, buggy!

Only if you microwave it for over three minutes. Three minutes is the rule on celery soup.
