no ,its not illegal,it is s a good idea not to sell them in the same town as they was repossessed from though,people have a funny way about them when it comes to seeing someone else drive something that they payed on and lost,i have bought a few,but i always sell them at a sale or to someone out of the town they came from,also make sure all the paper work is good and strait on them,sometimes it gets messed up,and you can become stuck with one for months before you ever get it straitened out, i got stuck with a van like that once,it wasn't any fun either,good luck i hope this helps.

why would it be illegal if you bought a car after it has been repossesed than you are within your rights to sell this car

of course i would say it really depends on the state your in but in just about any state if you repossess a car for a company then that is their property not yours but if you sell a car to someone and they dont pay for it and you repossess it then yes legally you can resale it

As long as you have legal titles and a dealers license it is legal.
