Does he think you are a piece of meat. He said I'll call you later babe... and other time he calls me sweets.... i want him to respect me... we did have a little make-out session on date 1... I usually never do that. Have I ruined a potentially long term relationship option... he did text me after the date... two days later...

Well, I'm not a guy I'm afraid, but what I do know is that most guys will use the word "babe" or "sweets" as a term of endearment, and it's probably not supposed to be patronising at all! But if you're uncomfortable with him calling you that, then tell him! As for the late texting, it could be a sign that maybe he's not as into you as he thought, but maybe he didn't have enough credit, or lost his phone...etc.
It depends on what the guy's like, really. If he's a player, then he may well have lost interest. Talk to him about it, ask him if he's really gonna go for a long term relationship or is he just wanting a booty call, that's the only way you're going to know for sure rather than just trying to analyse text messages. Good luck!

Is that what kids do these days? You had a make-out session and you're worrying about terms? Wow, I've never been kissed before and I'm 25, so if a girl kissed me the last thing I would think of is what she refers to me as later.

I hope I don't sound mean, but the contact is the biggest part. You can't buy it, you only earn it I guess, so I'm surprised to see concern over nuances of the date.

From another perspective i know your concern.. i find it a bit off putting when a guy you've basically just met starts calling u babe.. for some it may be innocent but with my last relationship we didnt give eachother names until it was starting to get serious.. if a guy calls me babe and i hardly know him i find it a bit sleazy like he'd call every girl that and that he's over confident.. i dunno to me thats a more personal thing and the guy isn't gonna be calling me babe until we know each other a bit better and see it really heading somewhere

i hate the term babe being used and it feels like you are just another notch on the belt when a guy calls you this. let them know right off that you don't like it. if they have a problem with it then don't bother with them as they are probably just players. read tips on flirting and dating to help you better on this site

Many guys use "terms of endearment" to show closeness. For instance he calls his friends "man, dude, brother, hooker, bro, parter, chief ect....." for females that he is close to its more like babe, hun or honey, kitten, sugar, sweetness, love, ect..

proper names show a more formal relationship and would suggest that he is not comfertable around you

Just tell him you liked being called kitten or something instead of babe.. easy.. little hint = you need to tell guys what you like and what you want. just try to not totally stomp him when you do.. so dont tell him to stop calling you babe , just ask him to call you something else that he would be comfertable with.

Well if you think your a piece of meat, well I guess you are. But he was trying to flirt with you by saying those nice things about you. What did you wnt him to call you bad names or what.
