I am not sure exactly what songs you are referring to here. But could it be a case of taking a song used by another club and changing the words. In the same way that the Kilmarnock fans sing a song made famous (or should that be infamous) by the Rnagers fans, but Killie sing 'the Killie Boys'.
I don't think you could say that Hearts fans are Rangers fans in disguise but I suppose that Hearts have a greater affinity with Rangers, and you could say that Hibs have a greater affinty with Celtic.
Take into account the rivalry that Hearts and Hibs have and Rangers and Celtic have, coming from the same city. Plus also look back at previous transfers. there have been more transfers between, or involving previous players, of Rangers and Hearts than between Rangers and Hibs or Hearts and Celtic. For eg, Steven Pressley, Neil McCann, Andy Webster, Dave McPherson, Davie Weir, to name but a few.

In Edinburgh as in Glasgow there are two rival teams. Hearts and Hibs. Hearts have traditionally been supported by Protestants,Hibs by Catholics.(Hibs was started by members of the St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church hence the affiliation). I suppose in the grand sectarian scheme of things in Scotland Hearts and Rangers fans feel united in their opposition of Celtic and Hibs and vice versa. Brother Walfrid who began Glasgow Celtic got the idea from the creation of Hibernian in Edinburgh.

Well, I think that's just part of the game and they were trying to enjoy themselves by singing the rival song.
Thanx!
