For walking around the mall, a 3 year old should be able to walk on his own. But if you want to go jogging, it stands to reason that he won't be able to keep up with you. Go ahead and buy it, but don't overuse it or he'll never walk on his own.

In my opinion, and it really depends on the length of the walk, but I say 4 is too old for a stroller. Now if you're going to be walking for hours, then yeah, find the poor child something to sit on. But in general, four is old enough (and so is three believe it or not) to walk around for short distances. I have a 9 year old, a 3 year old, a 2 year old, and a 1 year old (and I'm 16 weeks pregnant). I have a double stroller (with the seats one in front of the other) and my youngest goes in the very front, and the back one can be converted to a standing spot or a little bench seat for older children. My 2 and 3 year old will sometimes share this seat if they get tired of walking, but usually they both prefer to walk. We've taken them on long hikes and still they prefer to walk. So give your daughter a chance to just walk around and see how she does before you stress too much over whether she needs a seat in a stroller. You might buy a second single stroller (the inexpensive type) and let your husband or 13 year old push her along if she gets tired.

umm they will have a weight limit i would go by that i bought a jogging stroller with out the front swivel wheel when i first had my son and i tell you they are more of a pain in the a** then anything you physically have to lift it everytime you want to go a little to this side or that i don't think the jeep one has a swivel so i would right that one off completly the first one looks good though but i would just check the weight limit it seems like a good way to decide and also ask your son if he minds i see alot of 4 and 5 yr olds in the umbrella strollers cuz they can;t take a whole day of walking (live in a tourist town)

It depends on where you are going and how long you are going to be there. Christmas shopping in the mall? Use the stroller(that way you won't lose him) Trip to the amusement park, use the stroller(again, wouldn't want to lose the tyke). Going for a mile and a half jog, toss him in the stroller( really, it is not fair to make him play catch up, you're too fast for him!!!) Running inside the grocery store for milk and eggs, make him walk. As long as he does not exceed the weight limits of the strollers you want to use then it is fine.

Jogging strollers are great, I would say that 4 years old is too big for a stroller, I sure don't want to push around my 4 year old she makes it a lot of work! :-) But if you are going to jog with your son I would say go for it...if in the future you have more children you can always put the baby in it, some models/brands also have attachments so that you can clip in the infant seat.

Go for it!

I have seen six and seven year olds in jogging strollers because they could not be left at home alone and the parents jogged. My son was five before I gave up the stroller. Don't fret it and get the stroller, you will be glad you did.

no, it is not by age it is by weight. Each one has a weight limit. You need to look on the packaging or read the fine print to find the weight limit for strollers. I also understand that 3 year olds get very tired and cranky easily, especially on mall trips and such. Also if you have your hands full of packages how will you hold your childs hands? I have 3 boys and am pregnant with twins, trust me,the stroller will be my life saver.

I think that for kids, 4 1/2 to 5 is when they get too old for strollers.

well my kids are 6,5,4 and 1 month.......usually if i go somewhere where there is alot of walking the baby goes in a front carrier and the older kids take turns riding in the dual stroller 2 at a time....little legs take a lot more steps to go the same distance we do.....so it makes sense that they get tired easily...i dont see anything wrong with kids riding in one as long as they are under the weight limit for the stroller.

if your child is three i would not buy a stroller unless you are a serious jogger that would be the only time you should be using it, children are in strollers way to much especially since they have come out with the car seat ones, children don't leave the car seat, a newborn should be held when in public and when a child can walk they should walk, parents are getting very lazy, i see children at the mall in umbrella strollers and there knees are hitting there face, the face with the pacifier in it, very very sad

I looked at both the strollers and reccamend you get one with a swivel front wheel. I have had two joggers one with a wheel that didn't swivel and hated it. it was to hard to stear. So I know have the jeep urban terrain. It's got a swivel wheel and a removable stearing wheel for kids. it's great!
