I did curves consistently for about 2 1/2 months and lost 20 lbs. I have kind of been slacking lately but have maintained the loss so I would say it works. It allows a comfortable workout environment for those just starting out, but I can see where after the weight loss goal is achieved you might need a gym with weights to really work on definition.

I tried Curves for 5 months and honestly, you can do better at home. What I do is when I walk, I walk on the balls of my feet one way and the heel on the way back (great workout for calves). When I am washing dishes, I do squats and leg lunges. I purchased an exercise ball and that is what I sit on a majority of the time. It stabilizes your core. Then I started doing more every day to where I can walk around my neighborhood for about an hour. It's all about being more active. The more active you are the better you feel. I have lost 30lbs since doing it and of course I eat smaller portions now instead of elimating the foods I love. Curves (to me) is strictly a gimmick.

Its fun, and the music is great, and when you walk out you feel like you had a good workout. I didn't do it for very long because I don't like the circle aspect, I mean I didn't like feeling like people on the other side were watching me grunt and sweat. That ended quick. I bought a treadmill. Much better investment.

Is not the gym...........is the intensity and lenght of your workouts...your diet ,your seriousness about your goal .... otherwise...the list of cool gyms to visit will be long . . . (fall in love...you loose like 10 pounds the first month)
