This question raises a red flag with me. I am wondering why you want to know. I know how anorexic/bulimic people are. You get tips from other sufferers, tips how to increase the disease. When I was 19 or so, I heard that Karen Carpenter's death was caused by ipacac syrup. She used it to make herself throw up. I immediately went out and bought some. I used it about 7 times and it was torture. It causes violent stomach convulsions and makes you vomit.

But - a direct answer to your question would be difficult because there are so many variables. It depends whether the bulimic sufferer really purges before throwing up, what they eat, how much they weigh, whether they are also anorexic, etc. When I had it, I didn't purge first. I made myself vomit whenever I ate a normal meal.

If you are suffering from the disease, please think about getting help. I wrecked my teeth, my throat, the lining of my stomach, who knows what else.

I read it on WebMD or some website that is similar to WebMD that bulimia is only to maintain the existing weight. You can be chubby and bulimic. Anorexia definetely makes a person skinny...but not bulimia.

Not all people who suffer from that diease lose alot of weight. Some people actually gain weight. Because many times purging/using laxatives doesn't get rid of all the calories.

Vomiting is very harmful in many ways for your body if done frequently. It is not just about getting rid of food. It does more harm than good.
