Is Lamictal and Effexor good for depression?

I am 200mg of Lamictal and 225mg of effexor for depression. Is this a large/small dose and will I be able to come off them at some stage?

never been on Lamictal, but i was on Effexor a few years ago. the dosage kind of depends on which type of Effexor u are taking. i was on Effexor XL, a strong version of the tablet. if this is what u are taking, then u are taking a fairly high dose. i had to change to Dothiepin after a few months as the Effexor tablet gave me stomach problems and leg cramps. i think different anti depressants suit different people. give it a try for at least 3 months, that is how long it takes to start to see the long term effects that an anti depressant has on your mental well being. if u are suffering from any negative side effects after 3 months then u need to speak to your doctor about changing your tablets or dosage. good luck - i hope u find an anti depressant that works well for u.

I take Lamictal. I don't notice any improvement in depression.

But after being on the Lamictal with no results, I started taking Abilify (another mood stablizer) for depression and I've noticed an improvement in mood.

Currently, I take both Abilify and Lamictal.

200 mg of Lamictal is the normal dose. Neither high nor low.

I have never taken Effexor.

I was on Effexor alone and it was a life saver for me at 500mg. I was able to be weaned off of it with little problem and am doing fine now. Different medications work differently for different person. You are best off to discuss it with your doctor and explain any concerns with him. Good Luck

Effexor is nothing but pure poison?.It is stacked with the chemical structure as that to mda-mdma,when you first take it,you will be shagging 24/7.after three weeks that wears off and to withdraw is hell check out some peoples blogs ect on the stuff....stay off
