Let's see:
1. The primary symbol is an instrument used to torture a man to death.
2. There's the idea that God hated everyone so much that He'd only be appeased by having his own son killed -- infanticide.
3. And the primary ritual is to mimic cannibalism.

Gee, now there's a recipe for a healthy mind! No wonder so much hate and violence comes from it. People think it's permissible to do what their gods do. Sick. Twisted. Insulting to any benevolent concept of deity.

I've heard that sunni muslims beat their own heads till they bleed all over their faces in order to commemorate the murder of their religious leader, Mohammed's son.

The hindus, who refuse to push a cow out of the way feel that no home is complete without a copy of the Bhagavad Gita, a poem which contains nothing but the description of a bloody war.

Budhist priests have been known to soak themselves in gasoline and light themselves on fire as a form of social protest.

In a park a few miles away from where I live, there's a large tree stump in a clearing with a pentagram burnt onto it. Just about every new moon, the police find the entire clearing soaked in blood, with the bodies of several stray animals mutilated, with missing pieces, apparently for some religious ritual.

And I don't suppose we need to discuss the area of Papau New Guinea, where occasional reports of missing people and actual caniballism still surface from time to time.

I'm sure somewhere in the world there is a religion more barbaric than Christianity. I'm also pretty certain that you've had some serious problem with a very hypocritical christian or two in the past. I'd like you to know that not every christian is like that. If you really believe that every christian is like that, counselling may be useful. You can't live your life running away fron christians and trying to make them all give up their religion.

Yes! It is Many of its fundamental teachings strike me as innately harmful and damaging; its followers tend to be close-minded and bigoted; and its theology is flawed. In general, I have found Christianity to be severely lacking in its spirituality, social, and ethical teachings; and Christians to be largely arrogant and rude.

The very symbolism that it uses. "Washed in the blood of Jesus," wearing tiny representations of a corpse nailed to a piece of wood, followers that symbolically eat the flesh of a dead man! When people do this on film, it's considered a horror movie. Were a Satanist or a Pagan to claim that a man was murdered for their sins, that they were washed in blood, and that they ate flesh and drank blood, we'd be considered psychotic -- and rightly so! Cannibalism an almost universal taboo in humanity, yet Christianity is based upon human sacrifice (killing Jesus in order to turn away God's wrath from humanity) and feasting on the bodies of the dead! Again, I do not see how any of this can be considered healthy and of sound mind.

There is a problem with your #2... God didn't hate the world, quite the opposite actually. God is pure and holy, man is not and is full of sin. Because God is holy He can not have a relationship with man. But because He loved us so much He sent His son to earth in the form of man, as a sacrifice. Our sin was taken away when Christ died in our place, and we were given the opportunity to receive the gift of salvation. John 3:16.

As for #1 and #3 It depends on the way you look both at the cross and communion. And the way you view them speaks volumes about the state of your heart and mind..... Try looking at them as symbols of forgiveness, grace, and mercy... this is how Christians look at the cross and communion... they are seen as reminders of the beautiful love of God.

Nope, Christiannity was pretty civilized compared to this other religion in South America (I won't say what it is, for some people will hunt me down)

They preformed acts called Head-Hunting and Cannibalism. They did this to MILLIONS of their enemies (which was pretty much everybody else). I read this in a book, I know how to head-hunt, I just don't want to. In my opinion, cutting off people's heads, pulling out the skull, and putting the tiny head over a steaming fire is just SICK and REVOLTING.

The only way for you to get an unbiased answer about what Christ taught is to read the red sections in your New Testament. Then you will have your own opinion about how barbarious He is.

1) The cross reminds us that if we disobey God we will die.
But God has saved us through because Jesus willingly died in out place.

2) God hates our sins. But He loves us so much that He allowed Jesus to take our place.

3) What ritual?

God told us to love our neighbor as we love our selves.

No!! The cross is a symbol of salvation. Jesus Christ died for us to save our souls from hell. God loved us which is why He sent His Son to die for our sins. Jesus didn't have to die for us. He could've just decided not to, but He did because He loves us. It doesn't mimic cannabalism, it's to remind us of what He did for us. You must hate Christians. Am I right? Your tone is rude, arrogant, and pompous. Stop attacking our religion.

I agree with answer m and viitaliz.

No, humans have been killing in the name of________(fill in the blank with the head deity of your favorite religion) ever since we climbed down from the trees. Which is pretty ironic when you think about it.

No, get real. All you have to do is watch the evening news to see that Christianity is not the most violent religion. The bible teaches us to love our neighbor as our self, and to love the Lord God.

No, Christianity does not teach violence. Jesus never did neither does the Gospel.
