Yep...second death means that after we die physically, if we aren't walking with Jesus (God judges whether we are or not), we're banished to hell (harsh!, but true).
Personally I love walking with Jesus--I know that anything that goes on in this life is as tough as it will ever get, because heaven will be amazing.
There's a sadness though, because I know that for a lot of people, this world will be as good as it gets--sad thought, huh?
Gives you a lot of compassion if you think about it that way...

1. There is no life after death.
Death is the cessation of life, in all forms.
Death is not transubstantiation, in any form ...

2. The 'first' death is Adamic death, due to a person's missing the mark of perfection. Those 'asleep' in this death will be resurrected to life, for a second chance, this time in perfection.

3. The second death is Total Anihilation,
WithOut any hope of resurrection.
This is where the wild beast & harlot in Revelation go. Those organizations will never exist again, nor any that are anything like them. Same goes for individuals who have likewise sinned against God's holy spirit.

The first death is when a person dies, their spirit is separated from their body. At one or the other of the resurrections the spirit and the body will be re-united. The second death comes after judgment day. It is the eternal separation of the unrepentant (lost, unsaved, not born again) person from the grace of God.

Every person born except for two ( Enoch and Elijah) dies that is the first death. Death means separation from life when our bodies give up life we are considered dead. Our soul however continues to live, it has eternal existence. The same rule applies to our soul when it is separated from life it suffers the second death which is removal from God's presence. Christ said he was life and resurrection when you are cast from God's presence you still exist but it is an existence of eternal torment and the wrath of God abides on you. That is the second death and one from which Christians are saved through faith and given eternal life with God.

To get you to fall for the 'story' you have to be judged after you are dead, and unable to communicate with living folks, so the myth will be safe from 'criticism.
thus the writers of the bible developed a second death, so folks that survived near death experiences would not be able to say that they did not agree with the story, sort of insurance against anybody using their brain... lol
Thew need not have worried, they are enough nutters who will say that they saw god, to get a bit of attention. Well most prefer aliens these days, but in the good old dark ages it was god.

The first death is not what meets the eye or human logic. The first death is the death of mortal, material beliefs and their seeming hold they have over thought. The second death can not happen until the first death has been accomplished by faith and work and long suffering. The first death will continue until one has overcome it. The second death is the elimination of physical thought taking for one's form, and the spiritual body of the individualized infinite image becomes visible to consciousness. The bible states that to the ones who are spiritually advanced, the second death has no power over them, and of course it doesn't, because death never did have power. But without understanding, death retains power over mortal thought.

Jesus has a Book. It lists all of the children belonging to His Father. (Our Father.) There is a time to be born and a time to die recorded in this Book. If, at the Great White Throne Judgement, any name is not found in that Book, all will know that this person is NOT a child of the Father, but of the Adversary, who also has seed growing. (The tares.) If the name is not found in the Book Jesus is reading from, this 'soul' will be subject to the second death.

first your earthly body dies from whatever. the second death occurs when your soul (spirit body) dies because of a lack of faith or belief in Jesus. ROYAL ,YOUR QUOTE refers to the time when all the souls of gods believers put on the cloak of immortality . Our souls are still mortal until after the White throne judgment. Only after that are hell and death are thrown into the lake of fire(done away with).
