I assume you are referring to Dante's 'The Divine Comedy'?
First Circle (Limbo)
Second Circle. Those overcome by lust are punished in this circle.
Third Circle. Cerberus guards the gluttons, forced to lie in the mud under continual cold rain and hail whilst being forced to consume their own excrement.
Fourth Circle. Those whose concern for material goods deviated from the desired mean are punished in this circle.
Fifth Circle. In the swamp-like water of the river Styx, the wrathful fight each other on the surface, and the sullen or slothful lie gurgling beneath the water.
Sixth Circle. Heretics are trapped in flaming tombs.
Seventh Circle. This circle houses the violent. Its entry is guarded by the Minotaur, and it is divided into three rings:
Outer ring, housing the violent against people and property, who are immersed in Phlegethon, a river of boiling blood, to a level commensurate with their sins. The Centaurs, commanded by Chiron, patrol the ring.
Middle ring: In this ring are the suicides, who are transformed into gnarled thorny bushes and trees. They are torn at by the Harpies.
Inner ring: The violent against God ( blasphemers), the violent against nature ( sodomites), and the violent against art (usurers), all reside in a desert of flaming sand with fiery flakes raining from the sky.
Eighth Circle. The fraudulent—those guilty of deliberate, knowing evil
Ninth Circle Satan is trapped in the frozen central zone in the Ninth Circle and Traitors are found here

First circle is Limbo. This is the place where the unbaptized and virtuous pagans live after death. Though they have not committed any sins, the did not fully accept Christ.
2nd circle is for those who gave in to lust a wee bit too often.
3rd circle is for gluttons, who are forced to live as pigs in mud.
4th circle is for those who love material goods over spiritual wealth.
The 5th circle is for the lazy. Up to their shins in muck and the swamp waters of the river Styx.
Then there are the lower levels...
The 6th is for Heretics, trapped in flaming tombs.
The 7th is for the violent, its entryway guarded by a mythological beast called the Minotaur.
It is composed of three rings. Outer, middle and Inner. Outer is for those who committed violence against people. The middle ring is for suicides and the Inner ring is for those who commit violence against God and nature, they live in a desert of flaming sand with fiery ash raining down on them.
The 8th circle is if for the fraudulent, the liars and possibly those who are sexual predators. Sorcerors and false prophets end up here too.
The 9th circle of hell is reserved for those who ar traitors, traitors to their own families, traitors to their country and traitors to their God. If you survive the 9 circles you get to visit Purgatory on the far side of the world.
