looking for mp3 encoder?

I am looking for a free mp3 encoder, ripper. I have lots of wav files on my computer and cant find a free program to make them into mp3. I am also wanting it to rip cds into mp3.

I have windows 98 and it doesnt already have an mp3 encoder on my windows media player, I was also hoping for it to be free

Windows Media player is free and will do all that. Plus it should already be installed on your pc.
