You can not completely avoid virusis using limewire. Lime wire makes your computer totally open to everyone. Limewire uses files found on your computer to give people the information that they are searching for. If I search for the movie Ice Age and you have it on your computer, limewire makes that file completely and totally avaliable for me. If I select your version of the movie, I can obtain your computers address not your email address but the actual connecting address that you use when on the internet. with that info and a little luck. I am totally in. I can access ALL of your files. (only when you are connected the the net) But, still, any window of time that you are exposed to limewire makes you a target. You only have to use it once for the right people to get your address and use it to hack your computer later. I do not use LimeWire for this reason alone.

well i hope you know everywhere you click you will get cookies. some cookies are bad and the internet is not safe period. you can download ad-aware and scan your computer daily to see if you have any viruses or spyware. but other then that i don't know. and limewire is not the best thing cus everyone uses that and it's peer to peer which means people will download from you so it's basically like sharign and most likely you will get spyware and such and eventually it will crashes your computer. so i guess you just gotta be smart and have some kind of anti-virus program to protect your laptop. hope i helped ; )
