As Edgar Prado and Soaring By went into the gate at the Lousiana Derby, they broke through the gate!
And right when that happen, I just thought about Barbaro busting out of the gate, with the same jockey.

Don't you think thats just strange? Well not strange but just kind-a weird. The same jockey as Barbaro that broke through the gate on another horse in a Big Derby Prep that broke out of the gate?
Well anyways they started good in the race but in the end got dead last.

No! Everyone I know this stuff happens all the time! I'm just saying that it just seems weird that Edgar's horse broke through the gate during an important race! IT JUST MAKES YOU THINK ABOUT BARBARO:(

I know that he's been on many horses that broke through the gate just, it makes you think about Barbaro cuz it was an important race and Edgar was on that horse!

My Goodness!:()

that may be wierd just because it's sort of a big race on the road to the roses... but at the same time... so many horses break through so many gates everywhere in the world every day, that I don't feel like it's anything stunning. Most people only watch the important races, and they notice this sort of thing whereas the people who watch all the races kinda write it off quicker since we know that it happens pretty often. I didn't get to watch the race (I have TVG at home, but not at school, so i didn't get to see it) but I did see a picture of it and Soaring By reacted a lot worse than Barbaro did... Soaring By was rearing up whereas for Barbaro, it looked like his gate just opened and he started running because he thought it was time. I'm sure Edgar Prado wasn't concerned... I'm sure a horse he was riding broke through the gate sometime between last june and today... and just about every jockey has had the same thing happen since June too.

I'm not mad and I see your point and everything... I'm sure Barbaro came to mind for a lot of people when Soaring By broke out with Edgar Prado aboard... It's just that I'm personally not all that surprised because breaking from the gate is such a normal thing. You're right that there's an interesting connection because 2 horses in 2 important races broke from the gate early with the same jockey... and I don't think a horse has broke out early in a major race since the Preakness... I'm just saying that I'm personally not surprised. A lot of people would notice the connection and a lot of people would write it off as being a coincidence because it's too normal... Edgar might have thought about Barbaro, or he might have been too focused on this race to care. Personally, I saw the connection, but didn't really care because it's so common... but you're right... it is kinda odd that the events unfolded as they did.

I don' t know what your question is but it probably wasn't Edgar Prado's fault the horse broke through the gate just as he had nothing to do with Barbaro breaking through the gate. It happens because the gate is held shut by a magnetic device and will open if it is hit hard enough. It would be dangerous otherwise if you had a horse acting up badly. It is safer if it just opens.

Yeah , big or small.a coincidence, see Seinfeld reference. Yeah, Edgar Prado just breaking down horses. That's what top jockeys do, blow the last two legs of Triple Crown, after all He was not on Kentucky Derby winner, so why bother.
