Of course it is. And - if every sweet, wonderful person (like you, Pangel, etc.) gave up coming here - then the trolls and idiots would "win". We don't want that.
"Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven".
Let it shine, dear sister! Let it shine!!

I feel much the same way you do- my beliefs are mocked, ridiculed and twisted so badly as to be unrecognizable.... and then other "Christians" ask why those of my faith respond so "hatefully"... In that particular instance I think it was more self defense than being hateful... but
I agree- I wish the Yahoo team was a little more responsive- actually investigating complaints... I wonder- does a question get deleted merely because it gets x amount of complaints? or does an actual human being with an actual pulse look into these complaints?
Regarding whether this site is really worth it? I don't know. I choose to live my life the best I can, according to my beliefs, hoping that by my behavior, those who choose to watch will learn what a real Christian is. I know that very little of what I write here will create major change in others' views, but maybe my actual behavior out in the "real world" will prompt some thought.

I personally come on this page as i find it interesting to have so many different views form different walks of life. I do think it is unfair for some questions to be allowed as i too have seen some disgusting comments being made.
On the other hand everyone has the right to be able to express themselves in a decent and respectful manner, but that does not mean that if you dont like it then it is wrong, i have my views and other people have theirs.
People take things too seriously and are easily offended when it comes to religion. some comments are taken as personal attacks when they really are not.
Everyone should lighten up a little and enjoy decent debates.
Respect

wow, that was a great question. I have been a non practising Catholic for my whole childhood, and have missed being close to God. For the past year I have been learning more about the bible and God and have foundthe Christian faith suites me best. I have even joined a Christian church with my family. I started to research things and found myself on this board. It is embarrasing to say, i didn't even know what an Atheist was until i came to this board. I can remeber posting a few questions and was shocked to see sarcastic rude comments back when i was really sincere about learning things about God. I have fallen guilty in the trap of letting them get to me and get me mad. That is my fault. I should not stoop to their level. I can't believe the stupid, rude comments always get the good ratings and the factual, researched comments continually get a thumbs down. It is disheartening. I would have no problem talking to an antheist on this board, IF i asked for their opinion, but they just butt in and trash every question.

Amen! I can't stand it when others put down or make fun of other people....and always with the stupid idea that "their way is the best". Or they'll talk bad about other people's beliefs but know less than zilch about the subject.

This site is what you make of it. It's an open forum in a "freedom of speech" atmosphere. You perceive certain things as "backstabbing" and "running other peoples (sic) faith down" while trying to force them to shut up. So that's NOT "judging" and trying to do the very thing you're complaining about in here? Please.
If you don't like it, then obviously the best solution is to not log in. I don't like a lot of the harm-causing anti-gay rhetoric and anti-atheist trash I read in here, but I take it all for what it's worth... arrogance and ignorance wielded by people who claim they're a particular religion or philosophy.
And if you go... kindly take your hypocrisy with you?

Hey, this is the internet and an open forum. If you don't like it feel free to pick up your toys and leave.
If questions of yours are deleted I really wonder what they were as in general most offensive content is sooner or later deleted.
Why are chistians offended all the time by the way? It's either that or feeling persecuted.

As a Christian Pastor I remind myself of what I was before the Grace and Love of Jesus Christ changed my life.
Yes, some of the questions are rude and offensive.
Sometimes it is difficult to show the Love of Jesus Christ.
But we must remember the abuse our Lord and Savor took for us and continue showing that love to a lost and dying world.

At times I feel like giving up as well. I get disrespected by some people on this site when I ask a sincere question like the one that I just asked. I see that Atheists Agnostics and certain people are more hated on this site then others. I am a good person but people want to continue to judge me. They don't know a damn thing about me nor do they bother to learn anything about me.

When I started here last July ( under another avatar ) I was hoping to connect with humanity on some level. What a joke that was. Nowadays I just come here for the sideshow.
